Welcome to DASCH!
DASCH, Dunwoody Area Support for Christian Homeschoolers, is a family-integrated support group organized to help Christian home educators in the Dunwoody, GA, area. There are also moms in our group who homeschool in other Atlanta areas including Roswell, Peachtree Corners, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Buckhead and Brookhaven.
Our purpose is to support Christian homeschoolers through social and educational activities which promote a biblical worldview. We offer moms meetings, park days, a co-op and field trips. Park Days are on Fridays and rotate through various local parks. Moms meetings are generally the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm at a DASCH mom's home. As a family-integrated organization, we strive to offer whole-family activities whenever possible.
This is a Christian group with a statement of faith. Christian home educators of all denominations who have signed a Declaration of Intent to homeschool in Georgia are welcome. Our Mission Statement is as follows:
DASCH is a distinctly Christian, family-integrated organization with a statement of faith that exists to render support and encouragement to Christian parents who homeschool their children of all ages. DASCH also seeks to provide fun, educational activities for families that are wholesome, social, develop character and fall completely within the parameters of Judeo-Christian principles. DASCH also holds to the biblical tenets that parents are ultimately responsible for their children's education and that spiritual training is of the utmost importance.
NOTE****
We review applications and admit new members in Aug and Jan of each school year. If our membership exceeds 65 families, we close the membership and your name will remain on a wait list until such time as we have openings and it is within the admittance period(Aug and Jan). Please do not submit any payment until we contact you regarding available openings!
Steps to Membership

Complete our online application and agree to our Statement of Faith and Disclaimer

Have a signed Declaration of Intent to home-school in GA*

Agree to the guidelines laid out in our handbook

Pay annual membership fee via paypal when admitted to exploring membership pay@daschhomeschool.org
*We also welcome families whose children are not yet of legal school age, but have already made the decision that they will be homeschooling under GA law.
Dues
Costs for membership are determined annually. Because DASCH relies on our families’ time and talents to accomplish our mission, members are required to volunteer to lead or assist with at least one program or activity per year. Returning member dues are based on the amount of service to DASCH during the previous school year. For the 2010-11 school year, returning member dues range from $10 (for those volunteering three or more times) to $40 and new member dues are $30. If you join DASCH in Jan. your dues will be prorated. The membership year runs from June 1st through the following August 1st (i.e. June 1, 2010-August 1, 2011). Dues can be paid starting in June for the new school year. They must be paid by August 1st in order to remain a DASCH member and continue to be on the DASCH Homeschool Life website. Renewal fees each year there after are on a sliding scale from $30/$20/$10 depending on service points earned from the previous year.
