2. We offer two 8 week sessions of Friday School (Fall and Spring) with parent led classes.
3. Friday School attendance includes over 84 families with 260+ kids.
4. Friday School classes are for all the kids in your family.  We have classes for children ages 0-18. 
5. Friday School classes are parent led and tend to be more elective focused than accademically focused based on parent and student interest (i.e., science experiments, cooking, art, gym, rockets, etc.).

$100 All-Access Membership: Includes the benefits of Communication membership, but also has the added bonus of joining the Friday School (extra class fees to be determined) in the fall and spring. There tend to be events such as Open House, hang out times right after Friday School, etc. where the Friday School families have more opportunity to interact. Membership valid from date of joining to the following July 31st.

$20 Communication Membership: The opportunity to be involved in the Sonrise Community without attending Friday School. This includes email and Facebook communication, field-trips organized by member families, park dates, teen hangout times, mom connections, and family get-to-gethers. Membership valid from date of joining to the following July 31st.

No, our Membership Handbook states that your oldest child must be 7 years old by Sep 1st in order to participate in Friday School during that school year.

Every registered Friday School family is required to have at least one parent involved in and attending the Friday School program.  Below are the 3 specific areas you will need to sign up to participate.  If both parents help, just one parent needs to sign up or you can split the roles between the two parents.

Friday School Parent Participation:

1. Teacher/Parent Helper Position: Each participating family will have one parent who is assigned a position at the school for two of the three standard class blocks at Friday School. Parents can choose to apply to teach a class for one or two blocks of the Friday School session. If the parent is not teaching for two blocks, or if he/she teaches only one block, the parent will register for a parent helper position either in a classroom, as a hall monitor, as a floater (substitute) or wherever is deemed necessary by the Staffing Coordinator. Parent Helper Registration will always be scheduled sometime during the week after Student Class Registration and is completed online. 

2. Friday School Jobs: Every family will participate by signing up for a Friday School "Job" via Sign-Up Genius (link will be emailed as well as on Sonrise HC’s website after Student Class Registration each session). Our program functions because we all help. There are a variety of jobs available at different times to accommodate family needs. Many of these jobs are designed with the whole family in mind.

Friday School starts with chapel at 8:30 am. This a family time for all ages including student led worship and a short Bible message. It is concluded with announcements at about 9:00 am.

Friday School then has three one-hour classes. Our classes are parent-led, so they may change from session to session. One parent of each family is asked to help (either teach, assist, or be a hall monitor) in two of the three blocks of Friday School. In the 3rd "off" block the parent can connect in our parent break room with others while enjoying snacks, coffee, and tea. Kids will have an opportunity to eat a snack during B block. The snack will be provided by the child's family.

Friday School offers an optonal Social Hour from 12-1PM.  This is a great opportunity for families to eat lunch, socialize and have some free play time while the parents supervise.

Yes, we would love to give you a tour of Friday School during our fall or spring sessions. Since we rent the building, we cannot give tours during the off seasons of Friday School.
