DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
|
1. * |
We accept those historical doctrinal teachings on which there has been general agreement among all true Christians. We desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone. No such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders our fellowship together. These beliefs are the standard by which FCFE, Inc. enters, into any and all decisions.

|
WE BELIEVE:
1. The Bible
- The final authority of our beliefs is the Bible. It is God’s infallible written Word, consisting solely of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible was uniquely, verbally, and fully inspired through the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16,17) to the prophets and Apostles who composed them (Heb. 1:1). It was without error in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. No one should add to or take away from it in any way. (Romans 3:4 2Peter 1:21; 1Cor 2:13, 10:11; John 10:35).

2. Triune God
There is one true Holy God-the sole object of our worship. God is eternally self-existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality, yet who have different functional roles in the work of redemption. (Matt 28:19; John 10:30; Acts 5:3,4) (1 required) |
|
|
|
3. * |
3. God the Father
- God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth, is the functional head of the Trinity. He sent the Son to satisfy the penalty of our sin and to proclaim reconciliation and sent the Spirit to teach truth (John 14-17, 20:17; Psalm 103:13).

4. Jesus Christ
- Jesus is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He is fully God and fully man united in one person, forever. He lived a sinless life, and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone. He rose from the dead in the same body and ascended bodily into heaven. There he continually makes intercession for his own.
- He is the only mediator between God and man (Matt 1:16,20,23; Luke 1:34; Heb 4:15; 2Cor 5:21; 1Cor 15; Acts 1:9-11; 1Peter 2:5-9; 1John 2:1). Jesus Christ will come again to the earth – personally, visibly, and bodily – to consummate history and fulfill the plan of God (Rev 19:11-16; Zech 14:4-11; 1Thess 1:9,10).

5. Holy Spirit
- The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth, baptizes them into the body of Christ, and seals them until the day of Redemption (John 16:8-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Cor 6:19; Rom 8:9b; 1 Cor 12:13; Eph 5:18; Gal 5:22-23).

|
|
|
6. * |
6. Fall/Sin – Redemption/Salvation
- Salvation is offered as a gift; free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal work, but only in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6)

7. Church / 'Body of Christ'
- Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all men, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures, and for mutual encouragement (1 Cor 12:12-13; Col 1:18; Eph 2:15-16).
- Every believer is called to live in the power of the indwelling Spirit so that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, but will bear fruit to the glory of God. The Scriptures set out the principles and rules of the Christian life (Matthew 18:15-17; Rom 12:1,2; Gal 5:16-26; 2Cor6:14).

8. MARRIAGE:
We believe God ordained the sacred bond of marriage to be between one biological man and
one biological woman as defined at birth. This is an exclusive union. Any deviation from God’s
intent for marriage is sin. (Gen. 2:20-24; Matt 19:2-9; Heb. 13:4)

CONDUCT GUIDELINES
We realize our actions and behavior reflect not only on ourselves and our families, but also on FCFE, Inc., the homeschooling community, the body of Christ and ultimately our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:20) Therefore, we desire to hold to the highest standard of excellence in our conduct and behavior. These conduct guidelines you are about to read have served FCFE well over the many years since they have been drafted. The wording conveys the seriousness of how we want to conduct ourselves in Christ. However, in delivering the message of excellent conduct, it comes off in a way that may give those who are not familiar with the FCFE families that we are severe and taciturn families. You can be assured that is not the case.
We love Christ and His people. We are very familiar with the challenges of bringing little ones (maybe even bigger ones) to places where they are naturally prone to behave in ways that make their mamas want to blush. We have been there. We are there now. We are a community of homeschooling families that are striving to honor Christ in our lives, and we recognize we need help from the Body of Christ in order to be successful. So, as you read this, keep in mind that although we adhere to high standards, we also extend grace and help to one another along the way.
Please arrive on time, 10-15 minutes early is strongly encouraged.
- Children must be under the direct supervision of a parent at all times. At no time is a child to be left unattended. Should there be class activities offered, parents accompany children to and from classes.
- Always stay in the designated area. When attending a function never roam the halls of a church, school, an office or any other building unsupervised.
- No running or rough play, no loud or distracting talk, shouting, etc. Be attentive and respectful to tour guides, teachers, speakers and staff. Be especially respectful not to talk when they are talking, This goes for parents too! We want to be invited back.
- Children are to respect the authority of adults within FCFE and those we encounter on outside events.
- FCFE believes every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing communication, behavior, or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated. They are not in accordance with Scripture and will not be tolerated in our group. Romans 16:17 NKJV “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.”
- We do not condone the deliberate exclusion of any FCFE member/person based on race or ethnicity. We support the biblical call to love all people. Ephesians 2:13-14
- If there is any issue with a member of our organization, the biblical pattern of conflict resolution should be adhered to. Matthew 18:15-17
- Adults or children Children (or adults) unable to adhere to these policies may be prohibited from attending the next field trip. any further FCFE events, including co-op.
- Each parent should read these guidelines and share them with their children so there is no misunderstanding.
- Offer to help set up, break down or clean up when at events or activities. Many hands make light work.
All members of FCFE shall agree to abide by the following guidelines at all FCFE functions and events. We are guests at any event or field trip and should strive to behave accordingly.
Let's seek to be ambassadors for Christ so we always leave a good impression wherever we go in hopes that others will be drawn to the Lord.

COMPLIANCE AGREEMENT
ABOUT OUR ATTENDANCE LAW:
We are admonished in Scripture, both by example and by command, to obey the laws of our country. (Romans 13)
“Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore, he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For it is a minister to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil. Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience sake.” (Romans 13:1-5 NAS. cf. Deuteronomy 28, Daniel 1, 1 Timothy 2:1-3)
In Georgia, God has blessed us at this time with a supportive homeschooling law. F.C.F.E., Inc. supports this law and expects its members to abide by it. If we fail to comply with the law that God has given us, we risk the judgments that He promised to Israel when they doubted the wisdom of His guidance and turned to their own ways. The failure of a few to comply hurts the reputation of our group and homeschooling as a whole.
Our State Homeschooling Law requires that:
Among homeschoolers, as in every community, there are those who fear to follow God’s guidance too closely, lest our enemies interpret our obedience as weakness. Some have suggested that we should not comply with the reporting requirements of the attendance law, fearing that the information will be used for harassment or worse. F.C.F.E., Inc. does not condone or encourage this. If a few homeschoolers give school officials the impression that the present law is not working, our opponents will have the excuse they are looking for to change the law. There are some influential people who would like to eliminate homeschooling altogether. Those of us who fought for the present law have seen the power of these people, and we do not wish to repeat the experience soon. So please, if you have not already done so, file your intent form now, and be sure to keep up with your attendance.

FCFE DRESS CODE
Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Our heart is to set a standard that will build respect, foster unity and limit distractions. (Teen Pact)
We want our group to:
-
Honor God by wearing clothing that is respectful of our Christian witness
-
Honor our fellow believers by wearing clothing that is attractive, but modest.
The following dress code will apply to all FCFE events for parents and children first grade and up.
-
Shirts should have a hem that covers the waistline and should not be sheer, low cut, or skin tight. Strapless, spaghetti straps, midriff and halter tops/dresses should not be worn.
-
Pants, skirts, dresses, and shorts should have no inappropriate holes, be sheer, skin tight, or worn too low. Avoid short shorts and skirts. To check for length, make an “L” with the thumb and index finger and place at the top of knee when seated; shorts and skirts/dresses should be long enough to hit the thumb. To check for tightness, pinch the sides to be sure there is wiggle room.
-
Undergarments should not be visible on any person (adult or child) at any time.
-
Clothing with inappropriate graphics or text, witchcraft, occult, or dark themes should not be worn to FCFE events. (such as, but not limited to new age themes, vampires, skulls & bones, etc.)
-
Swimwear – Boys/Men- we ask that swimsuits cover from the hips to at least ¾ length of the leg when measuring the inseam to the knee; Girls/Women – we ask that swimsuits follow the first guideline and cover the midriff, waist and hips. We prefer that shorts be worn over the swimsuit, but it is not required.
Students or parents that are dressed inappropriately may be asked to return home to change into appropriate clothing, and they may then return to the FCFE event.
