About Creation Explorers

Q:

Who are we at Creation Explorers?

A:

We are a group of Christian homeschooling families seeking to magnify and point our children to our awesome God as we learn about His amazing creation.

Q:

Do I have to sign a statement of faith to join Creation Explorers?

A:

Yes, the full statement of faith can be found in our New Family documents section of the website.

Q:

Is this a drop off co-op?

A:

No, Creation Explorers is not a drop off co-op. Our co-op is parent lead and run. We have a cooperative environment where we all are responsible for teaching and helping the classes run smoothly. Each family will have a parent placed on a teaching team where they will serve the entire year. We consider and try to accommodate preferences, gifts, interests, and capacities when considering which teaching team is the best fit.

Q:

Are background checks required of adults?

A:

Yes, all parents attending are interviewed and background checked.

Q:

How are you handling COVID-19?

A:

We follow the current recommended protocols given by our governor and the CDC.

Classes

Q:

What is the minimum age for my child to join?

A:

Each family must have at least one school-aged child registered in a science class to join our co-op. Nursery and preschool are offered for younger siblings, but our focus is on school-aged kids and teens.

Q:

What curriculum does Creation Explorers use?

A:

Apologia (plus Berean Builders for Chemistry)

Q:

What can my child expect to do there?

A:

High school uses the entire window of time for an intense focus on science, with time for lunch after co-op is over. Students in K-8 will partake in science, physical education, and lunch. Preschoolers (ages 3-4, potty-trained) enjoy a range of age appropriate stories, music, play, and lunch. Nursery aged 8 weeks-toddlers can expect to play in a nursery room and eat an appropriate snack/lunch from home.

Q:

Is lunch available to purchase on site?

A:

No, all lunches are brought from home.
