Jiffy Factory Tour - Explore Michigan
Please join us as we continue to Explore Michigan on Tuesday, April 9 at 1:00 for a free tour at the Jiffy Mix Plant (Chelsea Milling Company)! The tour will be about an hour. Looking for something to do after the tour? There is an outdoor playground "Timber Town", as well as in indoor play area "Chelsea Tree House."
Description:
A free, one hour tour consists of an educational and informative video presentation, a product sample, refreshments and a walk through our packaging plant led by our Tour Hosts. Age Requirement: Children must be in first grade or above to participate in the plant tour. Children who are not yet in first grade will be required to wait in the Reception area with an adult from their group during the plant tour.
Entrance Location & Parking:
Visitors will enter the Tour Reception area, via our Main Entrance (look for the flagpoles on West North St.). Tours will exit the facility one block West of the Main Entrance at our Receiving Department area. Free parking is available in the lot directly across from the Main Entrance.
Disabled Access:
Yes. Wheelchairs are permitted but not supplied. Each wheelchair must be attended by an individual escort. Canes, crutches and walkers are permitted. While a small elevator is available for visitors with restricted mobility, for ambulatory visitors there are 18 steps and the tour route is approximately one city block long. Leader dogs, and other service animals, may accompany a person or group during the video presentation. However, in keeping with food safety guidelines, service animals will not be permitted on the walk-through plant tour.
Merchandise for Sale: “JIFFY” Mix products, logo t-shirts, hats and tote bags are available for purchase in the Tour Reception area. Please ask a tour host for details.
Special Information: For the safety of our visitors and employees, please do not bring outside food or beverages into the “JIFFY” Mix facilities. All visitors who participate in the plant tour will be provided with required protective hair covering. Photographs and video recordings are permitted in the Tour Reception and Receiving truck areas but not during the plant tour. Each of our tour guests will receive a complimentary gift bag.
