Dow Gardens is a 110-acre campus comprised of an Estate, Garden, and Forest. There are approximately 3 miles of ADA accessible paved surface pathways, in addition to many other unmarked woodchip trails.
HEART families will love these features!
Children’s Garden: A colorful, dynamic landscape with a variety of interactive and educational features including a play house, bubble table, scavenger hunt, and gardening tools. Children will enjoy learning about plants and where their food comes from through these fun, hands-on activities.
Playground: This playground was designed with creativity and exploration in mind! There are many exciting elements to discover, including accessible swings, slides, cargo nets, climbing structures, and an accessible water feature.
Canopy Walk:This ADA accessible structure encourages guests to interact with nature in new and unique ways. Each “arm” of canopy walk features a unique experience!
Dow Gardens is an outdoor experience. Visitors should plan to dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear.
Garden Etiquette
Dow Gardens is a botanical garden with a carefully curated plant collection. Guests are encouraged to step off the paths and explore the grounds but please refrain from walking through garden beds or stepping on plants.
The beautiful landscapes are designed for everyone to enjoy. Please leave all plant materials in the Gardens. The plants are happy there!

Parking
Please park at the Education Center, 2203 Eastman Ave. Midland, MI 48640. This is not a public entrance but it is reserved for groups. The building is located near the forest, playground, and Canopy Walk. Restrooms and printed maps are available inside the Education Center. Once on site, we are free to explore at our own pace. Please note that Dow closes at 6:30pm during the fall season.
Picnics are welcome!
Food is not permitted inside any of the buildings or facilities.
A Café regularly serves specialty coffees, teas, pastries, and other light refreshments. Additional menu items change seasonally.
The cost is $2 per person. This is for all children and adults. Please sign up and pay by October 11th. Signups not paid by this date will be cancelled. No refunds will be available after this date.
