Mrs. Jessica Ortiz To All Instructors

My name is Jessica Ortiz, I am a stay at home mother who loves to teach and bake with my 2
beautiful daughters that are 5 and 3 years old. Prior to being a stay at home mom I had the
honor of working as an Assistant Teacher for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder both
at a charter and a private school for 16 years. I have a passion for children and my mission has
always been to serve, support, as well as advocate for others. As a trilingual person ( English,
Spanish, ASL) I fell in love with the American Sign language and the culture. I then submerged
myself into the DHH community where I learned the language and later met my husband.
Having a husband who is deaf I have experience interpreting for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
at church and some community interpreting. I have a personal investment and dedication to
the DHH community not only through the support of my husband and family, but also in my
mission to ensure my children are well-versed in the culture.
