BACKGROUND CHECKS: Please note that a background check is required for ALL families who attend Watermark. Because Watermark parents are required to stay on campus while their students are in classes, this is for the safety of each child at Watermark.

The cost of background checks for TWO adults is included in your family registration fee. These two adults are the legal parents of the child. If any other guardians will be consistently or frequently bringing your student to Watermark, the background cost for these adults (neighbors, grandparents, etc.) will be at the expense of the family. (Please note that a background check will not be required for someone who is not consistently bringing your child to Watermark.)

If you are unable or unwilling to complete a background check at this time, we will be unable to move forward with the application process.

I have read the Handbook section on payment and understand that I am responsible for paying for classes that we have registered for. Even if our homeschooling journey changes. I (the parent) understand that the classes I have selected for my child/children are my responsibility and MUST be paid.

I understand that once I sign up for classes at Watermark, class fees are binding for the year, even if I choose to make monthly payments.

I understand that class fees are non-refundable unless Watermark cancels a class.

Deposits for each class are due to ensure your enrollment. If deposits are not paid by deadline, your enrollment for the class will be removed and opened up for additional enrollment.

If making payments in full, the remaining balance is due in full by August 1. If you are making payments throughout the year, a deposit is due within 1 month of the start date for the open enrollment period, and the remaining payments will be divided into seven (7) roughly equal payments to be paid from August to February.

The following questions apply to those who are choosing the Payment Plan option. Please select N/A if you are paying in full.

I understand that my payment needs to be received by the first of each month and that it is my responsibility to ensure that payments are made on time.

I understand that by choosing the Payment Plan, I am agreeing to a 1-time convenience fee of $10 per class, with a maximum cost of $100 per family.

I have read the policy on late payments in the Handbook and understand that if my payment is received after the 5th of the month, a late fee will be added to my account.

I understand that if we sign up to take Watermark classes, we are committing to 25 weeks of classes on Mondays/Thursday and will do our best to attend each week. I understand that by signing up, we are taking a slot for the classes being offered and that class teachers have planned for my child with time and in some cases materials and thus intend to honor their efforts.

I understand that I am expected to participate in the Meet in the Teacher held in August at the host church, and that this is a mandatory and vital part of our preparation for the year at Watermark.

I understand that Watermark is not a drop-off program and that I am expected to stay on campus throughout the time my students are at Watermark and be responsible for my children, regardless of their ages. 

Supervision, Facilities, Responsibility and Behavior

As we meet in a church space that is used for their ministries during the time Watermark meets, we ask that you and your children please be aware of the work going on throughout the building. Please hold your students accountable for their behavior, especially as we have had some concerns raised about some of the running and loud noise, We want our students to enjoy their time at Watermark and with their friends, but it is imperative that we respect the rules and working environment of the space we have been graciously allowed to use.
 

I understand that this is a working environment and will ensure that the church staff and others can enjoy it as such by enforcing with my children such standards as no running in the hall or lobby; not yelling in any part of the building; not roughhousing in the church, etc.

I understand that it is my responsibility to supervise my children who are not in classes, and I will help ensure that they abide by the expectations in the handbook.

Bullying is not tolerated and is grounds for removal from Watermark with no refunds for classes given. Do you understand and agree to this policy?

Communication

The primary form of communication between members and Watermark is "School Status Connect". Watermark’s leadership often posts announcements, and teachers post weekly updates and use School Status Connect to communicate with parents about the class, assignments, etc. Participants should check the School Status Connect weekly! School Status Connect is also used for field trip signups, outings, etc.

To make sure you receive School Status Connect updates, your settings can be set so that you receive forum updates via email. Please accept and add a checkmark to participate and to ensure that you receive updates. If you block notifications you will miss out on important information or changes sent out and will need to regularly check the forum itself instead.

*Note that teachers send weekly updates of classes on School Status Connect as well, typically by midnight on Tuesdays.

I understand that communication with Watermark leadership and teachers is essential and that I am expected to check School Status Connect, either through the app or website weekly.

Additional information is available on the website and on a closed Watermark Facebook group. If you have not requested membership into the closed Facebook Group please do. Please make sure that Watermark emails are not going to spam or junk mail folders.

I agree to communicate directly with Watermark teachers and/or leadership when there is a concern about my student’s behavior or performance in class.

Foods, Lunches and Snacks

I recognize that Watermark is a nut-free program and, due to allergies, I agree not to bring snacks or lunches which contain nuts for me or my family.

I understand that we are expected to clean our own lunch supplies and trash and contribute to the overall cleanup of the cafe area and throughout the day when possible. I will supervise and work with my children to ensure that their area is satisfactorily cleaned.

Photo Release

By attending Watermark classes and events, you grant Watermark and its representatives permission to take photos and/or video of your family/ guardians. These photos may be used for the yearbook or other purposes, some of which might include (but is not limited to) the Watermark Facebook page, promotional or fundraising purposes, or other purposes to help achieve the group's aims.

Names of children and families will not be used in public settings with posted pictures.

Sick Policy

I have read the sick policy in the Handbook and will contribute to the health of others in the Watermark community by not bringing sick children to class.

Service Roles

We are awed by how God has allowed Watermark to grow and humbled to be a part of what He is doing in the homeschool community. Because of the tremendous growth Watermark has experienced, though, we have realized that with that comes a tremendous need for help and that the load has become too much for just a handful of moms to bear on our own. We know that many people join Watermark because, well, quite frankly, we want a break and enjoy the time of not having to teach, even if just for a little bit, and for the time of not having many commitments. However, this year we humbly require that each mom (or dad!) commit to serving in some capacity with an element of Watermark. Our hope is that this time of service is a blessing rather than a burden, and we aim to structure it in such a way that it is not a huge time commitment.

More information will be provided at the Meet the Teacher, but please take this opportunity to indicate what areas of service you might enjoy and that might help you to utilize the gifts that God has given you. 

Listed below are the broad areas in which we regularly need volunteers for one time or ongoing volunteers. Some of these can be filled on a rotating basis. Please indicate which areas interest you most. Checking these boxes does not guarantee you will serve in that capacity, nor does it commit you to it, but it gives us an idea as to what your gifts are and what areas might interest you. You can select more than one box.

In addition to the Service Role opportunities, we also have some opportunities that require more of a commitment, such as:
