Labor Day Camping (Sat - Mon)
Details finally available, and SIGNUPS NOW OPEN!
- Saturday, September 2 – arrival 12 Noon or later
- Monday, September 4 – final departure by 4pm
Come and go as you need to. Day visits are also welcome for non-campers!
Please make a contribution directly to Jeff Poppens for camping. $50 per family for camping, and $20-25 for day visits, is suggested and appreciated! (There used to be a donation button on his website, I can't currently find it, I assume check or cash is also fine, and we can ask about Paypal, etc. when we're there.)
Please bring your own food for the weekend. There will be an ongoing fire. Bring weather-appropriate clothes and clothes to get wet in (or bathing suits) for the creek. There is a rustic bathhouse with a flush toilet and several outhouses; no showers.
Last year we were camping in the barn because of inclement weather, we anticipate being on the other side of the road this time, camping a bit more primatively (without a kitchen, darn it) but nearer the lovely creek ;)
Activity options include farm tours, farm chores, hiking, swimming, creek-stomping, hammocking. There's a stage the kids can use to conduct a talent show or shadow puppet play on one night. If any parents or students want to lead activities or do a bit of skill-sharing, please let us know!
AND Sunday night there is an fun opportunity for a ghost hunt tour at The Thomas House in Red Boiling Springs. $25/person. Please go to the separate calendar event here to sign up!
