**Classes are full for the 1st semester of 2025-26**
Social Membership includes everything except classes
Memberships established after March 1, 2025 expire June 20, 2026
Social Membership
Social Membership puts you on the waitlist for classes and allows your family to participate in all activities except classes in the meantime. This includes the following:
- Field trips (at least one per month)
- Youth group (ages 12+, one event per month)
- Parties (some on class days and some off-site on alternate dates)
- School Photos & Yearbook
- Moms' Night Out (at least one per month)
- Special Events (Student Expo, park days, parent events)
When there is space available in classes, Social Members who express interest in joining classes will be interviewed in order of seniority. If accepted*, families will be invited to register for classes. We attempt to add as many Social Members as possible during each class enrollment period.
*Please note: During the interview, we will be observing the children's ability to follow their own parent's instructions, respond to the interviewers' instructions, and to sit at a table while the adults talk. Adults should demonstrate that they understand the commitment required to becoming part of the co-op at RHG. After all interviews are complete, we will invite families to register if we feel we have the ability to serve their needs and if they will bring value to our group. If spots fill before all approved families are able to register, they will be added to the waitlist for the following semester without the need to repeat the interview process. If a family is not invited to register, they will have the opportunity to interview again for the following semester.
DUE TO THE NUMBER OF SOCIAL MEMBER FAMILIES ALREADY WAITING TO JOIN CLASSES, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO JOIN CLASSES WITHOUT FIRST BECOMING A SOCIAL MEMBER AND WAITING FOR OPENINGS. AT THIS TIME, THE ESTIMATED WAITING TIME AS A NEW SOCIAL MEMBER IS TWO SEMESTERS.
Prior to requesting Social Membership, read the Statement of Faith and other pertinent membership requirements in our handbook. If you find RHG to be a good fit for your family according to the following eligibility requirements, follow the instructions below to begin the process of becoming a member.
Please read the handbook prior to requesting membership:
2025-26 Rainier Homeschool Group Handbook
(Opens as a download in your browser)
It is expected that all who apply for membership have read and understand their expectations in the handbook.
Eligibility Requirements (excerpt from the handbook):
- Families must be homeschooling according to Washington State Home-based Instruction law, which includes filing a Declaration of Intent to homeschool.
- Full-time ALE/PPP enrollment is NOT homeschooling. Students must not be enrolled full-time in any public school program (online or in person).
- If child is under 8 and you have not filed a DOI yet, child must not be enrolled full-time in any public school program (online or in person).
- If enrolling in classes, the oldest child in the family must be at least 5 years old at the beginning of the semester.
- Attending children must attend with their own parent or legal guardian.
- Members must provide at least one attending parent on class days to fulfill membership requirements. Because all attending parents will work directly with RHG students, all attending parents must meet the following criteria:
- Complete a background check and child safety training course.
- Sign in agreement with the RHG Statement of Faith.
- Write a brief personal testimony.
- The second parent on the family profile must complete a background check and child safety training course regardless of attendance plans.
- If the second parent does not agree with the Statement of Faith, he or she may observe classes or attend RHG events (with the attending parent) but cannot fulfill the attending parent’s assignments.
