The purpose of the HCS Drama Club is to give our students opportunities to perform in a theater setting while developing their communication skills, confidence, and God-given talents. While refining their abilities, we will encourage meaningful, Christ-centered relationships so our students can together be lights to the world, having the self-confidence to effectively communicate the truth of Christ and His salvation.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

The HCS Drama Club is made up of both our Cast Members (grades 1-12) and our Crew Members (grades 7-12). Cast Members are required to commit to weekly attendance of our rehearsals as well as working on memorization of the script, music and choreography outside of rehearsals. They are also required to attend all Tech Week Rehearsals as well as all Performances.
Our Crew Members are required to attend various Crew Meetings throughout the Drama Season as well as the two Wednesday rehearsals leading up to Tech Week and all rehearsals during Tech Week & all Performances.
All parents of Cast Members are required to participate in the Club by taking on a parent job during the Drama Season, Tech Week and Performances as well as attend a monthly parent meeting. Parents of students under the age of 10 are required to attend all rehearsals with their student.

Workshop/Camp - $25 per student
Crew Member Fee - $50 per student
Audition Fee - $50 per student
Cast Member Fee - $175 per student

*Cast Member Family Discount - Families with more than 2 students participating will pay a discounted rate of $100 per all additional students

**Audition fees will be credited towards Cast Member Fee for all students who join the Club.

If your student would like to audition for the show, please take time to read our updated Handbook and print the following materials:
(links are under Audition Materials)
1. Audition Sides - This document has all of the possible audition options for each character. Print out the Sides for the character your student will be auditioning for and bring them to your audition. Students do not need to memorize the lines!
2. The Parent Contract - This form is for parents to read, sign and includes the parent team jobs. Please bring this form to your students audition.
3. The Cast Audition Form - This form needs to be filled out and signed by our students and will be taken into their audition.

**Any student registered for auditions after 8pm on Mon. Dec. 2nd will be charged the audition fee whether or not they attend.

**If your student would prefer to join Drama Club as a Crew Member then please print out the Crew Application, fill it out and email it to dramaclub@hcssd.org starting Friday, November 22nd at 8am. Applications will be taken until the positions have been filled.
The number of Crew chosen will be determined by the club's needs.
