Q:

When do you meet?

A:

Second and fourth Friday of each month from 8:50 am until 1:50 pm.  Students are not required to remain the entire time if they finish their classes sooner. We also will meet the 3rd Friday for continuation of certain classes and other classes that meet once per month.

Q:

Do you charge a membership fee?

A:

Yes, $55 family fee for the year which includes costs towards web page, copies, ink, and costs incurred from paper products and supplies.  Registation fee is non-refundable after the first week.

Q:

What happens if I need to drop a class?

A:

We understand that life happens and sometimes a class needs to be dropped. We want to be able to accommodate you if we can. We will first try to see if switching to a different class for timing, teacher, or more/less of a challenge would work. We will refund on a pro-rated scale for the first 2 classes of a session (Fall, Winter, Spring) however if not notified before the 3rd class of a session there can not be a refund. The family membership fee is non-refundable.

Do you have steps in place for the safety of children?

A:

Yes we do! All teachers and anyone who works with children need a background check. Also to insure safety of children , we do not want an adult alone with a child where they are not publically visible at all times! Where possible, classroom doors will remain open. Parents are welcome to observe as long as they check with one of the co-directors and then get teacher approval due to space confines.

Additionally, main entry doors are locked after children arrive to ensure no one unrelated to our homeschool community wanders in unannounced.

Q:

Are parents required to volunteer?

A:

We ask that a parent from each family help out for one hour per month. It may involve monitoring the study hall area or lunchtime, clean up or set up, nursery help, planning field trips, preparing for a program, or other areas of need. Any parent who works with children is required to have a background check.

Q:

Can you explain how your fall, winter, and spring sessions work?

A:

Yes, we will meet in the fall for eight weeks of classes from Sept. - Nov. .

Winter's 8-week session meets from Dec.- Feb.

The Spring 8-week session is from March - May 

Part of the reason we do sessions with 5- 8 classes, is to enable a family to try us out for one session to see if we're a good fit for your family. If it works, you can keep on for the entire year. If it isn't working for you, then you can drop the other sessions. It also enables new families to come in during the year starting with a new session without waiting until the following year.

How much is tuition?

A:

 Clicking on a class on the class registration page will show the cost. 2- day per month classes are usually $72 for the year.  3 day per month classes are $114. Shorter term classes vary in price. Some classes may be offered for free.

We do offer discounts for the 4th child and beyond. We also offer a discount if you sign up for 3 or more classes for one child for the entire year. The discount is applied to the 3rd and beyond classes and will be seen in the spring tuition payment.

What do you do on the third Friday of each month?

A:

Our regular classes meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays. Some classes meet again on the 3rd Friday because they need more continuity. We will also offer other classes that won't be year long classes. The change of pace varies on third Friday.

Why are your classes multi-level?

A:

We offer multi-level classes in most cases because it offers a more real-to-life experience. Where in your adult life do you interact with someone your exact age?   Students of the same age do not all learn at the same pace, so a 3rd grade student may be learning at a 5th grade student level- the reverse may also apply. As homeschoolers we have the freedom to not constrict the learning process to a particular grade level. The other benefit of multi-level classes is that older students can function as a mentor to younger students both in academics and in behavior.  It also helps the older student to practice kindness in remembering that a younger student may not know everything an older student knows.

Do you offer any clubs?

A:

Yes, we do! These clubs do not have a tuition cost but may involve fees or purchasing an item or book. You may choose to participate in a club without taking classes, however, you will need to become a member to participate in a club. For this year, we will offer yearbook (Spring),  and chess club. Reading clubs are tentative for this year.
