Ashley Medina To All Instructors

Hi Thrive Families,

I am so excited to teach your kids this year! I have a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Education from The University of Texas (Hook ‘em Horns) and from there I continued on to the graduate program at Cal State Fullerton to earn my Multi-Subject Teaching Credential. I’ve worked in many different educational settings, including public, private, and non-profit. I started off my teaching career as a Reading Specialist at Santa Fe Christian and moved on to work with children at various age levels Kindergarten through Middle School. I have loved working with each age group, and found they all have their special uniqueness. I began homeschooling my own kids in 2016 and fell in love with the freedom and flexibility to make education engaging and beautiful. During my time homeschooling I educated my kids in all grades K-6th as well as helped start a nature group for homeschool families. It was the greatest joy to explore great books, go on adventures, and learn as a family schooling together. It is my goal as an educator to create a positive, encouraging, and engaging environment where kids fall in love with learning.  My desire is to spark wonder and imagination through the act of learning.

My husband and I live in Encinitas with our five kids Ava (19 and in College at CSU!), Marley (15) Penelope (13) Jude (11) and Elinore (9), three dogs, two birds, a handful of guinea pigs, and a lizzard!
