Market Day
Market Day is a fantastic hands-on experience for our young entrepreneurs to learn the essentials of running a business. They will set up and manage a shop, handle rentals, advertise their products, hire employees to keep their business running while they shop, and even calculate and pay taxes on their earnings.
Market Day Guidelines

Only non-edible, student-made (or student-enhanced) products allowed.

No weapons, weapon-making kits, raffles, or helium balloons.

Written materials must be age-appropriate.

No guaranteed electrical hook-ups—use batteries if needed.

Students will participate by selling goods or services to attend.

Businesses can have up to 3 students.

Students should set their own prices and adjust them based on sales.

Students will take turns selling and shopping, with chaperones paid a minimum $1 HERO Doller per minute if left in charge.

Workers should be given time to shop with their earned HERO Dollars.

Taxes (10%) will be collected at the end to cover location and utilities.

Students must wear nametags with their name and store name.

Each student gets a $75 HERO Dollars investment; $20 must be kept for making change.

A Business License costs $10 HERO Dollars and must be displayed. Businesses without one will be fined $25 HERO Dollars and cannot shop until they pay.

Students must track sales with a handwritten list and submit tax forms at the end.
