REACH Code of Conduct
Every student and parent should be aware of the fact that the document of the code of conduct such as this will not list the entire “do’s” and “don’ts” that are to be observed in Christian living. A Christian is guided by the will of God as revealed in the Bible and will constantly question his/her actions as to whether they are pleasing to the Lord who so graciously went to the cross for him/her. Just because some point does not appear in print does not indicate that it does not exist or apply.
General-
- Be respectful of teachers and obey authority figures.
- Ask permission before eating snacks, going to the bathroom during class, etc.
- Teachers make the final decision on what is acceptable in their classes and classrooms.
- Be respectful of property. Ask permission before moving church property.
- Get to class on time.
- Be kind to classmates.
- Electronics are for emergency use only unless approved by the teacher. In general, they are best left at home.
- Have fun and enjoy, but be gentle. Make sure it is fun for everyone!
- We function best as a community working together. Parents will be notified if a student refuses to participate or causes regular disruptions. Students who do not abide by the rules will be asked to drop from participation, and no refund will be given.
- Please manage your own children during any group time at REACH. It is a parent’s responsibility to make sure their children are sitting quietly and listening during group announcements, prayers etc.
- Students that are asked to participate and are refusing or having a bad attitude will be dismissed to sit with their parent for the remainder of the day. After the parent, teacher and student have reviewed expectations they will be able to join the class again, If the behavior continues, they will be dropped from the class or co op for the semester if this behavior exists across multiple classes.
Dress Code-
As a Christian community we take seriously the way we project our faith to those around us. Please dress in a way that is not a distraction to learning and personal holiness. All learners and parents are asked to always dress modestly. Please be mindful of logos on clothing, backpacks, and hats. Please practice hat etiquette and remove your hats during prayer time.
Conflict Resolution Procedure-
Please follow the steps bellow when/if conflict arises:
- The student and parent should make every effort to resolve the conflict with the person involved (teacher, parent, director, or fellow student).
- If after multiple personal conversations, disagreement remains on how to resolve the conflict, the matter should be brought to the attention of the Community Director
- The Community Director will review the conflict with all parties involved and attempt to resolve the situation. This may involve meetings with the student/parent, teacher etc.
- If disagreement remains on how to resolve the conflict, the Director will contact the Board of Pastors. The Board of Pastors will review the conflict with all parties involved and attempt to resolve the situation. This may involve meetings with the student/parent, teachers etc.
Parent Expectations-
- Support the Biblical instruction of the students at REACH in keeping the Statement of Faith.
- Maintain open and frequent communication through phone, email, with REACH leadership.
- Respect the professional decisions of each instructor and their classes.
- Approach instructors and administration with questions and concerns in a way that reflects Christ’s love for us, understanding the students well-being is of utmost concern of both parties (Matthew 18).
- No gossiping
- No chatting with another parent whilst class teaching is taking place. This is a distraction to both the teachers and the learners.
- Pay your dues in a timely fashion. REACH fees not paid on time will jeopardize your membership to the co-op.
