FAQs

Q:

What is Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op?

A:

Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op is a volunteer-run homeschool cooperative that combines the best elements of the classroom with a family’s choice to home educate by offering:

  • Enrichment classes for children kindergarten to eighth grade,

  • Student-interest clubs for upper elementary and middle school students, and

  • Community events and service projects for the whole family.

Q:

Is Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op a faith-based community?

A:

Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op welcomes students and families of all religions, personal beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds. While we do meet at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, we are not affiliated with the church or any particular church denomination. We have many co-op members who hold Christian faith and values, but we are first and foremost a place of academic and community support for all homeschool students and families. Our goal is to support you in your journey, meeting you where you are and furthering your children's education through passion, wisdom, and creativity. Where faith intersects education, it will be noted in the class descriptions and the instructors will present information to the students in an open and supportive way to value and respect each families background and beliefs.

Q:

Why do I have to do a Family Interview before being accepted into the co-op?

A:

At Arise, we want to create a hospitable and welcoming environment for everyone. We want Arise to be a place you LOVE to be! We know there are many ways you could choose to spend your time each week, and we want to be sure you can hit the ground running when joining our co-op. The interview is your opportunity to have all of your questions answered about our classes, instructors, and homeschooling with Arise in general. We want to make sure we are a fit for your family, and we've found the interview process to be helpful to new families time and time again.

Q:

Is Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op a drop-off program?

A:

Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op is a volunteer-run homeschool cooperative, which means everyone involved in Arise Co-Op plays an active role in making this community one of passion, curiosity, and learning. Therefore, Arise Homeschool Family Co-Op is not a drop off program. Parents and/or guardians are expected, and required, to be on campus at all times during co-op meetings and scheduled events. Our classes are taught by parents and volunteers of the co-op, and those not teaching are expected to be helping hands for classes, organizing clubs/events, or otherwise contributing in some way to the success of the cooperative. When you join Arise, you join a fully cooperative and involved community.
