FAQs

A Typical Day at FE

Q:

What is my committment?

A:

Parents must commit to remain on campus with their preK-10th grade children (this is not a drop-off program). Parents who only have high school students in grade 11 or 12 who can drive themselves, are encouraged but not required to stay on campus. Regardless of the age of your children, you will be assigned to a rotating parent work duty team (morning set-up, lunch clean-up, or afternoon clean-up). The number of times you will be required to work will depend on the number of families enrolled. You will also need to work with your children on assignments during the week (one hour per week is NOT enough time to cover any subject). You are still the teacher – our goal is to enrich what you are teaching at home – but we do ask that you make every effort to attend class and to keep up with any work assigned. In addition, we ask that you commit to participating in the classes for the entire year.

Q:

What can I expect on Mondays?

A:

Kids can choose from multiple core academic and elective classes to fill up from 1-5 class hours. Parents will stay on campus, observing their children’s classes, volunteering when scheduled, or just hanging out with friends.  We want this to be your favorite day of the week – a place where you can find resources to help your kids and friends to fill your heart! Classes will be held at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Q:

What happens between 11:00am and 12:00pm?

A:

The entire community joins together for Chapel at 11:00am and lunch begins at 11:20pm, right after chapel. Chapel is a time where we come together as a community in prayer, worship and to hear a message of encouragement. When it's time for lunch, you can find two rooms with tables plus grassy, outdoor space for picnic lunches. Pizza lunch can be purchased ahead of time to make lunch easy and food trucks also make an appearance every once in awhile. The gym is open at lunch for basketball, gaga ball or to just hang out with friends.
