Mr. Dave Hoehl To All Instructors

I am excited to have each of you in my class this coming school year!  We are going to have a great time learning about the science of music.  

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Bethel University and my Master of Arts in Music Education from the University of Minnesota.  I continued to earn 60 graduate credits attending University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, St. Cloud State University, and College of St. Scholastica. 

My music teaching experience spans 38 years with the last 31 years teaching in Chisago Lakes District #2144.  Teaching responsibilities included Marching Band, Jazz Band, HS Concert Band, HS Varsity Band, General Music, Choir, Beginning Guitar, Advanced Guitar, 6th and 7thGrade Brass & Percussion, 8th Grade Band, Winter Sports Band and working in musicals.  After retiring from formal teaching in 2018, I started teaching Music Theory at HERO. This is my 7th year in this position.

Along with school teaching, I also directed music for 6 years at First Baptist Church (currently Eagle BrookChurch) in White Bear Lake and then 14 years at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie.  I retired in 2015 from church music directing.  However, I am currently playing keyboards in the worship band at North Heights Church, Arden Hills Campus.

Again, I am excited for each of you about the music learning experience that you will have in my class!  It will be great!
