Mrs. Heidi Wise To All Instructors

Hello!  My name is Heidi Wise.  I have a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Language Arts.  I was a first grade teacher for six years.  After having my son,  Isaiah,  I worked part-time as a a grant writer, who wrote grants as well implemented all of the grants we were awarded.  When my children entered school, I chose to become a substitute teacher in the Mounds View School District.  I loved working with a variety of ages in a variety of classes from physical education to art and even special education.  During COVID my family discovered homeschooling.  It has been a wonderful experience for us.  I homeschool my son, Isaiah, who is 17 and my daughter, Chloe, who is 13.  We discovered HERO in 2022.  Adding HERO to our homeschool added to all of the subjects we worked on at home.  I am excited to be a teacher at Rise Up this fall.  I will be teaching Middle School Girl's Literature Club.  I love literature.  I have books all around my house.  I am looking forward to sharing my passion for reading and learning.   I am also thrilled that I get to teach in a Christian environment!  I love Jesus!  I am delighted that I will be able to start each class with prayer.  I will be praying for my students throughout the year.  I am an intercessor for my church and my pastor.  When I have free time you can find me reading, going for a run, playing games with my children and spending quality time with my husband, Matt, who I have been married to for 23 years.  An additional fun thing about me is that I am a Fitness Instructor at the Shoreview YMCA.  I teach Group Fight every Friday morning if you want to come join me.
