Robyn Holcomb

Robyn Holcomb is a wife and mother who has retired from homeschooling after over 20 years of teaching her four sons. She initially felt the call to homeschool her children in 1993 when the Air Force moved her family to Germany. She taught all 4 of her sons from preschool through high school. Two of her children have graduated from Patrick Henry College, and two from Liberty University.

Robyn’s passion for working with children began in childhood, and she has been involved in teaching children and youth in one form or another for over 40 years. She received a degree in Child Development from Fresno State University in California.

Her role over the years, has included teaching preschool, working as assistant director of a preschool/daycare, and serving as children’s ministry leader. In that capacity, she has organized ministries, set up Sunday morning programs, and taught at summer camps, and VBS. In addition, she organized children’s programs at retreats, including writing curriculum and scripts, and teaching the large group segment for first through 6th grades. She has also taught middle school and high school Sunday school, and enjoys working with older students as well. She served as the leader of a homeschool co-op, and taught many classes to all ages up through high school, particularly writing and literature. She has always been a writer, and a bibliophile, and is always excited to get in the classroom with students to share these passions.

The past 7 years she has been delighting in introducing upper elementary and middle school students to excellent literature, and helping them see themselves and the Lord in the stories. She has taught literature classes as well as multiple levels of IEW writing classes for 3rd to 8th grade students in the ABC and Guiding Arrows, and CHRSM Co-ops. She loves being an encourager and helping students see that they really can succeed at what they put their minds to.

Along with four grown sons, she is now blessed to have two beautiful daughters-in-law, is ‘Mimi’ to five amazing grandchildren, and is fully enjoying this lovely season of life.
