Grades
Raising Arrows is a parent-led, not teacher-led, co-op. The teacher will provide the structure, and parents will provide the grading and accountability. Parents have the freedom to refine the assignments as needed.
Curriculum
Once classes are chosen, the curriculum teachers choose must be approved by the RACC board. Science classes are taught from a young-earth perspective. Curriculum with a Biblical worldview is preferred.
Inclement Weather
If there is bad weather forecasted for a Thursday, we will follow the Marshall County school closings, so watch for closing announcements due to inclement weather like ice, snow, flooding, tornadoes, etc. Any weeks we miss due to weather will not be made up, and assignments will be given for middle and high school students to complete at home.
FEES
Annual Financial Commitment
-
Co-op Fee: $190, 1-2 cleaning supplies as needed
This annual family fee covers our membership website, background checks, liability insurance, class materials (except for any necessary textbooks), and general co-op supplies. We aim to keep our fees simple and as low as possible!
These are our values regarding co-op fees:
-
Raising Arrows is a ministry to families. We are jointly ministering to each another by teaching one another's children. We are all teaching according to our skill set, passion, or gifts (or stretching ourselves outside of that). We are not doing it for compensation of any kind, but as a voluntary ministry as unto the Lord.
-
A core value of this ministry is to provide homeschool community, fellowship, classes, and support as affordably as possible to local families.
-
Teachers may expect parents to purchase books or materials for the class. If these are required, it will be clearly stated so on the Class Description so families can appropriately budget for their classes.
