SINCE 2020, WE NOW VOTE AT CROSSPOINT CHURCH, LOCATED AT W380N6931 N LAKE ROAD (FORMERLY HIGHWAY 67) YOU WILL NO LONGER VOTE AT THE TOWN HALL, LORD OF LIFE CHURCH OR THE AMERICAN LEGION ON ELECTION DAY.  EARLY/IN-PERSON VOTING WILL REMAIN THE SAME, HERE AT THE TOWN HALL.

Voters are encouraged to visit the My Vote WI website! This site provides electors the opportunity to start voter registration online, view personal voting information including registration status (active or inactive), polling place location, municipal clerk information, voting history, absentee or provisional ballot status and provides a sample ballot for an upcoming election.

Voter Registration


If you have moved, recently changed your name, recently turned 18 years of age, or are a new resident of Wisconsin, you will need to register or re-register to vote. Please note: If you have not voted in the past four years, you may need to re-register as well to activate your voter status.

To register to vote in the Town of Oconomowoc, you must have resided in Town for at least 28 consecutive days prior to an election. You can obtain a Voter Registration Form EL-131 from the Town of Oconomowoc office, or begin the process online at MyVote.Wi.Gov. You will need to provide proof of residency when the form is brought into the clerk's office. Be sure to follow all the directions and fill in all needed information or we will not be able to process your voter registration.

Absentee Voting

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification (Photo ID) must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

Making an application to Receive an Absentee Ballot by Mail

To obtain an absentee ballot you must make a request in writing. Contact the municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the election. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, your signature and a photocopy of your valid proof of identification (photo id).  Or you can go onto myvote.wi.gov and request an absentee ballot on-line.

The deadline for making application to vote absentee by mail is 5:00 p.m. on the fifth day before the election.

Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk.

Voting an Absentee Ballot In-Person

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office or other specified location during normal business hours or if necessary by appointment.

deadline for voting an absentee ballot in person in the clerk's office is  the Friday before the election. No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election.

The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before election day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close. Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
