Membership for the 2024-25 school year is closed.

Due to overwhelming interest, we apologize that we are unable to accept any additional members for the coming school year. We encourage you to check out the FB group Homeschoolers of Union County as well as this list of homeschool groups in Ohio. To be added to our membership interest list please complete this form.

Membership

The HIM membership year runs from June 1 to May 31 and requires a non-refundable $40 annual membership fee. HIM is made up entirely of volunteers and members are required to serve in at least one volunteer position. 

All new/prospective members need to attend a new member meeting. New member meetings are listed on our website calendar here and advance sign up is required (once signed up you will receive location details). 

 

HIM Membership benefits include:

~Monthly support meetings (Sept thru May)

~Opportunity to participate in weekly co-op classes (space permitting)

~Yearly notification, assessment, and testing information

~Private Homeschool-Life group site with resources, forums, calendar, and more

~Private Facebook group

~Outings & Outreach opportunities including  field trips, fun activities/events, and community service projects

~Local weekly summer park play days

~Drama Clubs

~Nature Club

 

Local homeschool families may join HIM, but we do require that members:

~be home educating families in which a parent/guardian is the primary educator of at least one child in kindergarten (age 5+ on or before Aug 31) through grade 12 (this excludes virtual public schools such as OHVA and remote enrollment in a public school district)

~be in agreement with the Christian beliefs and values of the group.

 

In the event that our membership reaches the number of families we can serve, we may limit new memberships as needed.
