- Contemporary Worship Band
Nick Tucker, owner of Spark Music Studio in Maple Grove, has a bachelor's degree in percussion performance, and is a freelance performer and teacher, playing jazz, rock, country, and funk. He has played with Grammy nominated and Dove award-winning musicians, as well as toured nationally with solo artists and bands. Currently very active in the worship community, he plays at multiple churches around the twin cities from Open Door and Substance, to EagleBrook and WestWood.
Since 2008, Nick has been teaching students piano and drum lessons and traveling around the US performing. With a passion for educating young and old musicians and a devotion to creating a greater imprint in the community, he started Spark Music Studio. Nick believes the best thing a teacher can offer to a student is real life experience. He feels that implementing and sharing what he has learned throughout his career speaks louder than any word from a textbook. Nick's passion for education doesn't end with him teaching, as he loves to learn and study with some of the greatest teachers in Minneapolis. Time spent learning and performing with people ranging from Steve Goold (Sara Bariellis, Owl City, Ben Rector), Dave Stanoch (New Kids on the Block, Sheryl Crow), Dave Hanzel (Celine Dion), Gordy Knudtson (Steve Miller Band) and Joel Hanson (PFR), have been some of the most important educational experiences of his life.
Nick is a young, high-energy teacher who loves to have fun. His goofy personality and hands-on teaching approach will easily keep you engaged. When he's not teaching or performing, Nick loves to go out and listen to other local musicians and spend time with his wife, Anna.
