We accept applications until August 1 for the school year.
Dear Applicant,
P.A.T.H. (Parents Advocating Teaching @ Home) is a support group of up to 60 families. Our group is organized with a group Coordinator, Co-coordinator, Secretary, and Treasurer. We meet for encouragement, fellowship and educational stimulation. Some of the many facets of P.A.T.H. include: Monthly newsletters, educational field trips, Mom’s night outs, Sports instruction, Drama club, bi-monthly Elementary Classes, and weekly Jr. High & High School Classes.
During the first year of membership, nothing is expected of the new family. If you elect to participate during the following years, you will need to attend the annual planning meeting (usually in June) and plan one of our activities. Our philosophy is that everyone’s “little” helps to lighten the load of “a lot”. Please be willing to share your time and abilities to benefit the group. To get involved, please fill out this application form, making sure to acknowledge agreement with the doctrinal statement.
There is a membership fee of $70.00, but please do not send it at this time. Wait until we contact you. Further questions can be addressed to our group Secretary at Pathofficer@gmail.com.
Thank you for your interest in P.A.T.H.

E. We believe in the fallen, sinful condition of all mankind. (Genesis 2:16-17, 3:1-19, Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23, Ephesians 2:1-3, 1 John 1:8)
F. We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone. (John 1:12, Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10, 1 Peter 1:18-19, 1 John 1:9)

H. We believe that the new birth begins a new nature to the believer that creates a conflict with the old, sinful nature. The new nature can rule in the believer. (John 3:3-7, Titus 3:3-8, 1 Peter 2:24, 2 Peter 1:4-10)

N. We believe that the sign gifts of tongues, prophesying, and healing were active in the first century church as signs to validate the apostles’ claims, because the Scriptures were not yet complete, and now have primarily ceased. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 13:8-10, 14:21-22, 2 Corinthians 12:12, Hebrews 2:1-4)

Standard of Conduct:
A. Because order is necessary standards of conduct are required for families during activities and outings. Particularly in public, we are not seen as isolated families, but as a group of homeschoolers. Therefore, what each individual family does will bring either honor or reproach on the whole group.
B. We should leave a good witness by being kind, considerate and cooperative. The “me-first” pushing and shoving attitude is unacceptable. We are representatives of homeschoolers and Christ Himself. Let us act befitting to those who bear His name.
C. In order to become the disciplined adults that God expects us to be, we must learn to be disciplined in our youth. To help accomplish this, the following procedures have been adopted and will be implemented at all PATH activities and outings by PATH parents. These standards are meant to encourage spiritual development and consecrated living which will glorify God.
D. Full cooperation is expected from both parent and child. If strict adherence to these standards is not observed, both child and/or parent may be asked to leave the meeting or outing. Event leaders may bring oversized clothing or appropriate attire to an event and offenders will be given the choice of covering up or leaving. If neglect of these standards becomes a habit (same type of behavior or attitude exhibited repetitively) the family will be asked to remove themselves from PATH.
E. Because we are all imperfect, there will be occasions when the actions of others may offend us. When this occurs please follow the principles provided by Matthew 18:15-17. Please do not bring an offense to a PATH officer unless you have spoken privately with the adult or the child’s parent. An offense between PATH families is never an appropriate topic for gossip.
F. We are not able to specifically state all the do’s and don’ts of conduct. Therefore, the following items are provided as guidelines.
Section 2. Be Courteous
A. This means that no one must talk while others are talking or interrupt a speaker before he/she finishes speaking. This also means that when a presentation is being made, children will be expected to sit quietly and not cause distraction. Children will be expected to display a sense of propriety regarding the appropriateness of “rowdiness” and “rough housing” at any activity. Children are expected to sit quietly and listen to the teacher during classes and show respect for the teacher as well as fellow students. No texting or use of any electronic devices should occur during a class or meeting.
Section 3. Be Respectful
A. This means that adults and children will speak and act in a respectful way towards each other. Name-calling and ridiculing will not be tolerated. There should be no swearing, crude language, vulgar gestures, or gang signs. Specific emphasis is made for children to speak and act respectfully towards adults. When an adult corrects any child, he/she is to submit to the authority with a positive attitude. Respect also needs to be shown to any facility being used. No running, climbing on railings, standing on furniture, handling of decorations, etc. For safety reasons, do not allow children to run in the parking lot.
Section 4. Dress Modestly
A. Modesty involves more than just our clothing. It includes our attitudes and our behavior; how we talk, use our eyes, engage with others, etc. Our clothes and appearance reveal a lot about our values, our character, and beliefs. Although we believe that it is up to each individual family to set the standards for modesty in their homes, we also feel that we have an obligation as a group to present ourselves in a manner that is a good testimony as a group and to our Lord. Christians have a biblical obligation to dress modestly and reflect holiness. Every area of a believer’s life is to be lived under the authority of God. Our clothes should reflect our submission and obedience to Him. Everyone should take care not to dress in ways which draw attention to one’s self or particular body parts. Everything we do – including the way we dress- affects others. As believers, we have an obligation to be sensitive to others and to avoid anything that could put temptation in the path of another. “Place” does not determine modesty. We are to be modest where ever we are – from sportswear to formal wear.
B. Some examples considered inappropriate are: midriff, back, or chest baring shirts, miniskirts, strapless tops, spaghetti straps, two-piece bikini bathing suits, attire which is clingy, tight, or too revealing, and anything that can be seen up, down, through, or where standard undergarments are revealed.
C. Clothing or t-shirts bearing violence, gruesome, vulgar, or offensive pictures or words.
D. A clothing check shall be utilized at formal PATH activities, i.e.: Senior banquet. Attire shall be checked at the door by the individual in charge of the event. If any garment is not in compliance it shall be altered to be in compliance. It is understood that any individual unable to comply will not be allowed to participate. A pre-event clothing check may be offered by the individual in charge of the event. The pre-check shall be voluntary. This document shall serve as the sole guide by which clothing is judged.
E. This is not an exhaustive list, but demonstrates guidelines that we, as PATH members, will follow at activities. If we choose to allow God to reign in our hearts and be our Master, then we will choose clothing and behavior that reflects our place of submission and obedience to Him.
Section 5. Public Display of Affection
A. Teens are expected to refrain from any public display of affection such as hugging, hand-holding, etc. that may be considered flirtatious, intimate, or otherwise inappropriate.
Please save this list of guidelines and review it periodically with your children.
1 Tim. 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity”
Matthew 18:15-17 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he refuses to hear them, even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.”
Eph. 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
1 Cor. 10:31-33 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense, either to the Jews or to the Greeks or to the church of God, just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.”
Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”
Phil. 2:3-4 “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
