Dual Enrollment Panel/Teaching Math Through Play

Please note that this month, we will have two separate topics for you to choose from: a Dual Enrollment Panel, geared towards middle/high school parents and Teaching Math Through Play, open to all.

Dual Enrollment Panel will meet in the Spurgeon Room

Many homeschooling families take advantage of the opportunity of dual enrollment, taking college classes that count for both high school and college credit. Naturally, parents have many questions, ranging from the benefits and cons to the practicalities and requirements. Join us in welcoming our panel of speakers, Renee Hays, Beth Goodale, and Heather Mullins. They will present valuable information and can offer a parent/student perspective. Renee has experience with Seminole State College, Beth has experience with Daytona State College, and Heather has experience with Valencia College. Come ready to ask questions and to find out more about this great learning option for our students.

Teaching Math Through Play will meet in the Perpetua Room

Does teaching subtraction make you sad? Does mastering multiplication make you mad? Is your student frustrated with fractions or too tired of times tables? Do division and decimals defeat you? Want to make math fun? Come join us as we explore all about learning math through games! Fellow homeschool moms will share tips and tricks for teaching math concepts through play! After the talk, check out the wide variety of hands-on games so you can get ideas for your family. Feel free to bring your favorite to share too!

This gathering is open to the public. Invite your friends! We'd love to meet you and visit with you. It's always a good idea to know what's available to homeschoolers in our community.

If you are new to homeschooling or interested in finding out more, we'd love to connect with you and answer any questions.

We have time set aside for a Homeschooling Q&A at 6:30 pm.
