Graham Cracker House Park Day
What: We gather to build houses out of graham crackers and royal icing, then decorate them with lots of festive Christmas candy!
Who: CFS Homeschoolers of all ages!
Why: Great fun and fellowship!
Cost: $5.00 per attendee, even if you bring your own supplies to use.
Where: The Morris Home
Details:
- Go to Michael's, another craft store, or Amazon and purchase a can of meringue powder. (It takes 3 Tbsp of Wilton brand meringue powder to make 1 recipe)
- Make one full recipe of royal icing per builder! (Recipe included with meringue powder -- follow instructions carefully! Young children making small houses might be able to share a batch. Make it the day before or Friday morning.)
- Keep the royal icing fresh by storing it in an airtight container such as Tupperware or a Ziploc bag.
- Bring one pound of festive candy (or about 2 cups) per attendee in your family to share with others. Choose from our list of candy and sign up for what you will bring so that we have a nice variety! (Bring around 2 cups of candy per person)
- Arrive at 12:00 PM with royal icing, candy, and your Christmas spirit! (Cardboard bases, graham crackers, and plastic knives will be provided.) If you can come early (11:30 a.m.) to help set up or stay after to clean up; we'd LOVE your help!
- Have a ball!
