Science Fair
Does your kid love science? Do they love doing projects? Enter them into the PCHEA Science Fair to show off their skills and knowledge. This is a 2 hour event, location SantaFe Credit Union Community Room from 2pm-4pm.
This is for 3rd through 12th grade, but students will be graded according to their grade level.
Choose a topic: If your child/children are interested in doing a project, help them choose an appropriate topic. A simple, well-researched question with a nice display is key to a good project. Parental help is needed for direction and encouragement. However, learning with the child will be enhanced if he/she participates fully in the project.
Display the project: Please present your project on a display board with relevant information. Each student who participates is to include the elements of the scientific method on their board. Each science fair participant will have a chance to present their project to 3 judges. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each grade. If we have too few entries some grades may be combined.
Judging Criteria: The projects will be judged based on several criteria including organization, use of the scientific method, display and use of visual aids, and creativity.
Participation in our science fair is free for all PCHEA members and $10 for nonmembers.
