Chesterfield Presbyterian Church (CPC) Homeschool Network (HSN) is a Christian learning center where homeschooled students in grades K-8 can experience  a day of classes.  Our format helps students grow in skills necessary for working with others, adapting to different teaching styles and meeting the expectations of teachers other than their parent.  These classes serve as a supplement and enrichment to what the student is already doing at home and encourages the student to grow academically and socially as they work both with partners or in small groups to solve problems, work on projects, participate in discussions, and other class activities.  Together the students develop empathy for each other and make new friendships as they journey through these subjects during the school year.

We meet on Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for two 12 week semesters.  The first semester typically meets during the months of September - November.  The second semester typically meets during the months of January - April.  We meet at Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, located at 15037 Clayton Road, Chesterfield, Missouri.

We strive to keep our class sizes small.  We typically limit the younger grade classes (K-1st ) to 12 students, 2nd-3rd to 14 students, and our older grades (4-8) to 16-18 students.

The majority of our students attend the full day of classes.  However, we offer two additional half day option.  The first option allows students to attend half day in the morning (including lunch and PE).  The second option allows students to attend half day in the afternoon.

Our teachers have many years of teaching experience.  The majority of our teachers do not have children in the program and have previously taught in both the public and private school setting.  Most  of our teachers currently have or have previously held teaching certificates or have an undergraduate or masters degree in their subject area.

The schedule works as follows:

Students in grades 1-4 take Art, Music and Geography in the morning and Communication, Science and Literature in the afternoon.  Students in grades 5-8 take Communication, Science and Literature in the morning and Art, Music and Geography in the afternoon.  All full day and half day morning students take PE and have a lunch break.

Parents may volunteer to help organize or decorate for the HSN socials which are held a couple of times per year.   And parents are expected to assist their children in completion of homework and projects as needed throughout the semester.

HSN strives to be a nut-free program.  While the building is not a nut-free facility, we ask that no peanut or tree nut products be brought into the building for any HSN events or activities.

There is no specific dress code other than we request that students should dress modestly and appropriately for outside PE.

Yes. In order to allow the teachers to teach to the appropriate academic, social and emotional maturity levels of the classes, we require students to enroll in the class they would normally be placed in public school, that is, according to their age.  Kindergarteners must be five by September 1 of the current school year, first graders 6, second graders 7, third graders 8, fourth graders 9, fifth graders 10, sixth graders 11, seventh graders 12 and eighth graders 13.  Please talk to the director if you have any questions about this.

Yes, if the weather is questionable we follow the Parkway School District snow day decisions.  If Parkway cancels school, we will cancel HSN. Additionally, an email will be sent out the morning of the snow day to all the families in HSN.

Inclement weather days are made up at the end of the 12 week semester.

Students are allowed to bring cell phones to HSN, however they are not allowed to have them turned on during class time or lunch, unless otherwise directed by the teacher to utilize the phone for educational purposes.

Yes, student work is evaluated on various levels based on grade level and teacher discretion.  All students receive an evaluation at the end of every semester.  This evaluation focuses on general academic and social parameters.  For the older students grades may be given by subject at the discretion of the teacher.
