Q:

How do I become a member of WSCEC?

A:

Email, Mandy Davis, the Intake Coordinator, at sonbeam79@hotmail.com for information about openings.  Also, starting in January every year, start watching the website for information about our yearly open house.

Q:

How often do you meet?

A:

Enrichment classes meet on Thursdays every other week for 7 class times.

Academic classes meet on Thursdays weekly for 14+ class times.

We have a Fall and Spring semester each school year with a family night for class presentations at the end of the year.

Q:

How much does it cost to join WSCEC?

A:

Full Day Membership Dues:

  • New Members: $150 due upon membership, $60 registration fee + $90 yearly membership dues
  • Returning Members: $90 per year per family
  • Dues are NOT REFUNDABLE and must be submitted with a Letter of Commitment
  • Additional costs may include tuition for academic classes (paid directly to the Independant Contractor), lab fees for certain classes and cost of materials/curriculum needed.

 

Drop-Off Membership Dues:

  • For students in 5th-12th grade 
  • $100 per STUDENT and are paid per semester. Additional children are $75 for the second student per semester and $50 for the third student per semester. 
  • Dues are NOT REFUNDABLE after Class Registration Day. Prior to the end of Class Registration Day, dues can be refunded minus a 25% Admin fee. 
  • Additional costs may include tuition for academic classes (paid directly to the Independant Contractor), lab fees for certain classes and cost of materials/curriculum needed.

Do you offer enrichment or academic classes?

A:

Both!

Our enrichment classes happen during the first three periods and occur every other week on Thursdays. Enrichment classes are member taught and some may include lab fees. Enrichment classes meet for 7 class times per semester. 

Our academic classes happen during five different periods and occur weekly on Thursdays. Academic classes are taught by Independant Contractors and require tuition paid directly to the Independant Contractor. Academic classes count as half or full credits based on the class and meet 14+ class times per semester.

Do you offer a drop off program?

A:

For families who are participating in the academic classes ONLY, we offer the option to drop off students (5th - 12th grade). Membership dues for families who drop off students are $100 per student per semester. Tuition and material costs for academic classes are in addition to dues and vary by class. Dues for second child are $75 per semester. Third child dues are $50 per semester.

Full Day vs Academic Day

A:

A Full Day is when our enrichment and academic classes are both in session. Full Days happen every other week for 7 class times per semester.

An Academic Day is when only academic classes are meeting. Academic Day classes happen weekly for 14+ class times per semester. 

Q:

Do I have to teach a class?

A:

New members generally assist in a class during their first semester, however there are exceptions when an academic teacher is needed.

All returning members teach at least one class, assist in one class and have one off period. Academic teachers are independent contractors who teach classes weekly. We ask that all academic teachers have at least two years of traditional homeschool experience.

Q:

Your name says "Christian", what does that mean for me?

A:

You do not have to be a Christian to join us, but the Christian faith and the Bible influence all that we do as a community. We have a morning devotional and prayer time on our Full Days. By becoming a member in WSCEC, you agree to abide by our statement of faith and not teach or say anything contrary to it. We are a non-denominational group and every family is welcome.

What makes your community unique?

A:

Our goal is to support and encourage homeschooling moms (and dads!). Along with our engaging classes, we offer workshops, activities, field trips and opportunities to enrich the homeschool experience for the whole family. Our community works together as member teachers to provide classes for infants, preschool and K to 12th grade. We strive to keep costs low for our families. Fellowship time with this amazing group is always fun!

Q:

How do I login to the website?

A:

Only current members of WSCEC will be approved to login to the website. If you have received approval from the Intake Administrator to complete your registration process, follow these steps. 

Step 1: Follow the link in your approval email that you received.  

Step 2: Complete information about your family.

Step 3: Wait for approval notification email which includes directions for the commitment form.  

Step 4: Once you have been approved and need to login to the website, enter the personal username and password that you created in the "Member Login" box on the homepage.

What type of memberships do you have?

We have two membership options:

Full Day Member Drop-off Member
Students: Nursery - Grade 12 Students: Grades 5 - 12
Dues: $150 due upon membership, $60 registration fee + $90 yearly membership dues* Dues: $100 per STUDENT per semester**
Parent remains on campus Parent drops-off student
