What is the mission statement for HEN?

The mission of the Homeschool Enrichment Network (HEN) is to give all homeschool students in Northern Michigan the opportunity to learn and grow in a positive group environment.

Is HEN a 501c3 non-profit?

A:

Yes, HEN was awarded their 501c3 non-profit status in the state of Michigan in January 2020.

What are the eligibility requirements for joining HEN?

A:

Any homeschooling family in Northern Michigan.

What are the member benefits?

A:

Membership offers families access to a comprehensive website that provides tools for making communication easier - i.e., e-newsletters, a community directory, and forums; as well as an event calendar with scheduled activities for students of all ages; and a weekly parent-led co-op.

What does it cost to join?

A:

The cost to join HEN is $25/family/year.  This covers website administration, insurance, and non-profit status renewal.

Can you tell me more about the Winter 2025 Co-op?

A:

Welcome to the Winter 2025 Co-op!

Here are some relevant details pertaining to the Co-op. 

Once you are ready to register - please complete the form below for each of your students.  Once submitted, you will be prompted to pay with PayPal.  PLEASE ONLY PAY ONE INVOICE PER FAMILY. I will remove additional invoices from your account.

Who is eligible?
Open to all HEN members (Join at MiHEN.org for an annual fee of $25/family)

Who teaches the classes?
100% volunteer led – parents teach/co-teach one class and assist in one class. Parents submit their class ideas (type of class, age group, description, supply fees, etc.) after registration.

Where is it located?
Redeemer Lutheran Church/Interlochen

When will classes be held?
Wednesdays from February 5 to May 14, 2025
Spring Break - March 26, 2025
Class Times 10-10:55a, 11-11:55p, lunch, 12:25-1:20p, 1:25-2:20p

What does it cost?
Semester Fee $50/family (additional class supply fees may apply - amounts will be disclosed in the class schedule)

What type of classes will be offered?
Structured classes covering a variety of subjects (this is meant to compliment your at-home curriculum)

What age groups?
K-12th Grades (Pre-K classes available for siblings as well as a nursery for children of teachers/assistants)

What are the important dates?
Registration opens for current co-op members 11/13/2024. Payment must be received by 12/13/2024 to hold your spot at the co-op.
Additions to our wait list can happen at any time. 

Class schedule available - 11/21; Class signup - 12/16 @ 9am;  Class supply fees due - 1/19; Teacher supply checks delivered/Meet & Greet - 1/22/25
