FAQs

Q:

What is a Co-op?

A:

A co-op is a group of families that come together to assist each other in teaching their children.

Q:

What does it cost to join Seeds of Faith Homeschool Co-op?

A:

Each semester we have a registration where our families come to sign their students up for their classes.  You will pay your dues for the semester at registration.  There is a $55.00 Registration Fee, for our 10-week semester.  This fee covers your entire family at Seeds of Faith for the semester.  We also have an HFHG Fee which is $50.00 a year (typically paid in the Fall semester).  Some classes may have additional class fees, due to the nature of the class.  Additional class fees will be posted under the description of the class on the website and can be seen both before and during registration.

Q:

What is HFHG?

A:

HFHG stands for Home For His Glory.  This organization is our "Parent Organization," which provides us with insurance, our non-profit status, and oversees all of the co-op groups under the umbrella of HFHG.  There are mulitple co-ops offered in the Greater Louisville area.  You can find out more about HFHG by visiting our website at www.homeforhisglory.com.

Q:

What is the HFHG Fee?

A:

HFHG stands for Home For His Glory, and they are the "Parent Organization" of Seeds of Faith Homeschool Co-op.  To join Seeds of Faith Homeschool Co-op, you must first be a member of HFHG.  There is a $50.00 annual fee to join HFHG.  This fee provides Insurance for our co-op, as well as offering other benefits like a reduced fee to join HSLDA, free annual membership to Enchanted Learning, and organized events for homeschoolers, like Young Author's Contests, dances, field day, parent meetings, and much more.  The full list of benefits for membership with HFHG can be found on their website at www.homeforhisglory.com

Q:

What do I do with my younger (non-school aged kids) during the co-op day?

A:

We have nursery, toddler classes, and Pre-K classes for the siblings of school-aged homeschool students.  Currently, you must have a student in Kindergarten or higher in order to join Seeds of Faith Homeschool Co-op.

Q:

Can I attend the Co-op for just a few hours of the day?

A:

You can attend 2, 3, or all 4 hours of the co-op day.  The Registration Fee is the same cost, no mater how many hours you attend.  There is not a discounted rate for a half-day.  Please keep in mind when deciding how many hours you will attend that the success of our day is based on our volunteers.  We must have enough volunteers each hour to cover all of our classes and necessary duties in order to have co-op.  Please be considerate of this and let us know if you do not plan to attend a full day prior to joining.

Q:

Do I have to be a Christian to join this group?

A:

Yes, this is a Christian organization.  Each family has to sign a Statement of Faith, at Registration in order to participate in our co-op.  We unashamedly use the Bible as the foundation for the truths we teach our children.  All Science classes are taught using the Creation point of view - not evolution.  We strive to educate our children using a Biblical Worldview.

Q:

What are Class Fees?

A:

Most of our registration fees will go to reimburse teachers for the expenses to teach a class (running copies, purchasing folders, gathering supplies, etc.)  Some classes will need more money, based on the nature of the class.  Typically science classes that will be doing experiments, cooking classes, or art classes might need more funds than the allotted money allowed per class.  The teacher may choose to request an additional class fee to cover these additional expenses.  All Class Fees will be listed on the Class Options page.
