Greetings and God bless you!

My name is Deborah Smith and I have played and performed the violin for over ten years. Additionally, I have been a member of the Youth Orchestra of Prince William County as both a performer and an employee. I also have an Associates degree in Music and Education and am currently working on a degree in Instrumental Pedagogy and Performance.

 I am offering group lessons for no more than 4 students per class in both the violin and viola. This will be a class designed for all levels from beginners to advanced musicians.  My goal is to provide personalized instruction within a classroom environment, thus lowering your costs as well as giving the students an opportunity to hear their instruments in concert with others.  In an orchestra, students have this advantage but sometimes can feel lost in the sheer size of the group, which is why I am limiting the size of my classes. Playing the violin alone can help them master a song, but learning how to play within a group can lead to greater advance skills because you must time yourself with others.
