Kim Ashbaugh To All Instructors

After graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Elementary Education and minor in English from Pensacola Christian College, Kim Ashbaugh married her husband Brian and taught first-grade at Pensacola Christian Academy. Their three daughters were born while the Ashbaughs were living and working in Pensacola.  Kim transitioned to working part-time in the publishing department of A Beka Book, teaching kindergarten, and eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom.

Kim began homeschooling her daughters after the birth of the youngest in 1999; seventeen years later, she finished as the youngest graduated. Two of her children have attended Liberty University as honor students, and the other is currently pursuing her degree after a few years with a Christian ballet company.  She is glad to have homeschooled so that her children were able to get a customized education and pursue their passions.

The Ashbaughs relocated to Lynchburg in 2016 and are active in their local church. Kim’s hobbies are reading, writing, listening to classical music, and taking walks. She desires all her students to develop a love of reading and is always willing to lend out fiction books from her collection.  Mrs. Ashbaugh has been teaching at ACA since 2017. She is thankful to be at ACA and feels privileged to call this her ministry.

Mrs. Ashbaugh likes: Zoe's, Panera, Chick fil A, Reeses cups, York peppermint patties, chocolate chip cookies, Starbucks, books, BBQ and Italian food!
