Axxess Policies 2023-24

Purpose Statement: Axxess is a co-operative set up to provide a Christ-honoring environment for 6th-12th grade homeschool students that provides academic and educational classes that benefit from a group experience.

Student Expectations:

Be Exemplary in attitude and behavior.
Be Diligent. Come to class prepared and ready to complete class objectives.
Stay in student commons/gym area. Do not hang out inside rooms of the church.
Participate in class and complete homework in a timely manner.

1st offense - Parent will be notified. Student will be asked for better classroom conduct.
2nd offense - Parent will be notified. Student will be dismissed from class for the remainder of the day and must sit at the parent monitors table.
3rd offense - Parent will be notified. Student will be forced to drop class with no refund given.

Be Respectful of:

Other students: No bullying, No public displays of affection at Axxess including but not limited to holding hands.
Tutors, Parents and other adults
Facilities and equipment/ NO FOOD on carpeted areas.

Axxess will only address or recognize one another by our biological sex given and defined by GOD.

All students are to have their cell phones turned off in class and are not to use their phones to watch or share streaming videos or publicly play music at any time at Axxess. Students may use headphones to listen to music with tutors permission in study hall or student commons/gym area. Tutors are to inform their students whether or not they are allowed the use of their phones for taking notes.

3rd offense - Parent will be notified. Cell phones will be taken away every Friday morning for the remainder

Parent Responsibilities:

Class grades – While tutors may give grades on homework and classroom work, a cumulative grade for the subject is the parent’s responsibility.
Be willing to meet with a tutor if needed.
No public school partnership monies can be used to pay for Axxess membership or class fees.
Supervise students’ homework for classes every week.
Check for emails or visit the forums page on the website regularly.
Communicate with the committee and tutors in a timely fashion if there are questions, problems or planned absences.
Get assignments from tutors when a student has missed a class.
Complete assigned cleaning task(s) every week or contact Axxess at 231-412-7668 if you are not going to be available for that week.

Tutor Responsibilities:

Maintain classroom order.
Communicate with parents on progress and/or problems with students.
Uphold Axxess Policies.

Dress Code Policy:

Axxess is not intending to define modesty for your. Family. Rather, we

are seeking to establish a common ground in order to respect the

variety of families we serve. Therefore, we have set a standard so

that everyone knows what is expected while at any Axxess activity. If

your clothing falls outside the policy standards,

The parent monitors are to make a judgment call as each student

signs-in for their duration at Axxess. Tutors as well may address

clothing issues that may be missed as students enter their classroom. Tutors should discreetly send the student out to the

parent monitor table to be addressed. It will be the parents responsibility to pick up their student or provide appropriate cover.

Clothing should not be skin tight, tops or bottoms. No yoga pants or leggings (unless skirt or dress covers to the tip of your fingers).
Skirts and shorts should be long enough to reach the tips of your fingers.
Tops and bottoms should not be revealing when bending or sitting.
Underwear, bras (including straps) and boxer shorts should not be visible.
Clothing graphics can not include any beer, tobacco, alcohol ads, inappropriate wording, double-entendre, or innuendo.
Nose rings or face piercing jewelry are not permitted.
No Visible tattoos

Anytime in the year a student repeatedly violates any policies they will no longer be able to participate in Axxess activities. It will be the parents responsibility to pick up their child.

Payment Instructions

Please send in one payment after class registration. After you have signed up for all classes for all your children, you may go to the accounting Balance Page at the top right of the website. You may pay with a check MADE OUT TO: Lisa Talsma and MAIL TO: Calvary Bible Church C/O Axxess, 4617 Grand Haven Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441.
