First Friday Fun Day: We gather together monthly for fellowship and fun, usually based around a theme or activity. Typically a potluck or snacks is planned along with games and crafts. Parents are asked to bring something and/or help in some way during the activity. Examples: Board game day, Christmas party, Valentine's party, Field Day.
Family Events: We will host two Family Picnics in the evening, one at the beginning of the year and one at the end of the year. We're also hosting our Homeschool Exhibition in the evening for all homeschoolers. This is a wonderful way for the non-primary homeschooling parent to meet other families.
Recess: Every Wednesday 10:00-12:00, park changes monthly. Meets during Fall and Spring.
This is a great time for kids (all ages) to get outside, move, and play with friends. Parents also get a chance to catch up and talk with one another. Older kids are welcome to start a pick up game of kickball, 4 square, basketball, capture the flag etc.
Activities: Once a month during the day fun outing. Ex: trampoline park, bowling, laser tag, ice skating, etc.
Field Trips: Monthly, typically on a Thursday or Friday morning. Occasionally a field trip will be a different day. Examples of past field trips: Flamig Farm, Meigs Point, Submarine Museum, New Britain Museum of America Art, Nature Centers
Mom's Nights Out: Monthly, typically the second Tuesday evening (or a weekday during the second week of the month). This is a fun night out but occasionally is hosted in a home. Past examples: Mini Golf, Murder Mystery, Craft Night, Paint Night, Laser Tag, Bowling
Mom Book Club: Monthly Saturday morning discussion about a book, various genres. This is a great time to grab a cuppa your fave beverage and hang out at the coffee shop and talk books. We have read non-fiction-- books about homeschooling and Christian living and we've read fiction--both the classics and modern lit. Those who attend help choose the monthly book selection.
