OUR HISTORY

FICHE began in 2000 out of necessity. Maple Grove and surrounding areas had an expanding number of homeschoolers that desired community. A caring, authentic, vested group was born from one informational meeting.

Ever since, FICHE has gathered to provide social and learning opportunities for homeschooling families as well as offering friendship, connection, support and assistance to one another.

FICHE is a place where you can belong and be known. We encourage you to look around our website and to meet with us and see for yourself!

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide social learning opportunities for homeschooling families.

To provide those opportunities in a Christian atmosphere through a board-led coop.

To provide support and friendship to parents and children of homeschooling families.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life and factually true, including subjects of history and science. (Deut. 4:2, 2 Tim 3:16-17, Gen 2:1-4)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1-2, John 1:1-3, Matt 3:15-16)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His imminent bodily return in power and glory. (Luke 1:35, John 3:16, Luke 24:39, Luke 24:51)

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone can be saved. (Gen 1:27, Gen 2:7, 21-23, Gen 3, Acts 2:38, Romans 3:23)

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin. (Eph 2:8-9, John 14:6, Acts 4:12, 2 Chron 5:22, 1 John 2:2)

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for Godly living and service. (2 Tim 3:16-17, John 14:16-17, John 15:26, 16:8)

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and that these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman, and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union. (Gen 1:26-27, 5:2, Matt 19:4-6, Mark 10:6, James 3:9-10, Mark 10:2-9, Heb 13:4)

We believe parents are responsible in the instruction to their children in Christian faith and conduct and in every way to “bring them up in the nurture and the admonition of the Lord” (Deut 6:6-9, Prov 29:6, Eph 6:4)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in Jesus Christ and that individual doctrinal differences, which may exist, should not hinder the unity of Christian home educators.
