Conduct & Expectations

For Students

Academics

  • Class is to be attended on time and with assignments completed
  • Cheating is prohibited. AI is not be used without the permission of the teacher.
  • In the case of an absence, it is the responsibility of the student to contact the teacher to get assignments

Respect

  • Profanity, obscenity, impurity, and hateful speech are not permitted
  • Modest dress is required
  • Flirtatious, boy/girl situations will be avoided
  • Respect for authority, for peers, and for the property is required.

Electronics

  • may not be used in class without teacher permission
  • are not to be shared with other students unless authorized by a teacher during class instruction
  • are permitted during lunch and breaks between classes
  • will be confiscated until the end of the school day if used inappropriately

Safety

  • Alcohol, knives, or any other potentially dangerous item are not allowed on campus
  • Students found in possession of illegal substances will be reported to the police

For Parents

Oversight

  • Parents will ensure their child attends class on time and with work completed
  • They will quickly address their child’s behavior and attitude when necessary
  • Parents will initiate conversation with teachers regarding their student's disabilities
  • Insurance will be carried for any injuries the student experiences

Payments

  • Parents will pay tuition or establish a payment plan by the first day of class
  • Tuition does not include books, supplies, or teachers' copy fees
  • Refunds, less the drop fee, can be received for any class dropped before the 5th week

Service

  • All parents are required to fulfill service hours according to the number of classes their children are taking
  • Parents have the option to pay Buttercup Hill to hire student workers in their place

Conflict

  • Before involving the board, parents will first endeavor to work out any issues directly with their child's teacher
  • The board is available to arbitrate between parents and teachers
  • Parents will honor the decisions of the board
