Co-Op Days

Q:

What will a typical 2024-2025 Co-Op Day look like?

A:

We are trialing a new concept starting January 2025!

1100 - 1200 - RRHJ will be offering a science class. Pre-registration required. This will be done family style using The Good & The Beautiful science curriculum for their Health & the Human Body unit.

1200-1300 - Open Lunchtime (Bring your own lunch)

1300-1500 - A casual gathering time. Mix of indoor & Outdoor free time, skating at the Emo Arena and organized activities or crafts as parents pitch in.

Q:

Who will be teaching the classes?

A:

Most classes will be taught by our homeschool parents and the RRHJ planning committee. Any questions, please reach out to Kathryn!

Q:

Do Parents need to stay during Co-Op Days and other Events?

A:

YES!! Seeing as we are all homeschool parents joining together to support each other in this endeavour, we promote parental involvement at all of our events. If you do need to run away for an appointment, it is your responsibility to leave them in the care of another specific parent in attendance. Please make sure we're aware of the situation :)

A:

The yearly fee helps cover our space rentals, supplies, banking fees, website fees, and any equipment deemed necessary by the committee (eg. rolling whiteboard) for the use of the RRHJ group events.

Fees are subject to change depending on activities planned, location rentals, and costs incurred. Any surplus at the end of the year will be assessed, and amounts returned fairly to families after leaving a small float to transition into the next year.

What is the Calvary Baptist Church Rental Costing us?

A:

Rental of the space is by donation. The RRHJ Committee determines how much to donate based off of how many days it is utilized. For the 2023-2024 year, RRHJ donated $2050 for use of the space. This year the donation will go towards their building fund as they plan to add on.
