Q: |
Can I drop my child/children off at co-op? |
A: |
Attendance is an important part of your commitment; our co-op cannot function properly without all members present. The ASH Co-op is run on the premise of everyone working together; if a member/family is absent, it puts more work on the other members. ASH Co-op is for the whole family, therefore one adult is required to attend with their children and remain on the premises for the duration of your child’s scheduled classes for any child in the Elementary and Junior High levels. |
Q: |
What are the duties of a parent volunteer? |
A: |
ALL Members are required to complete one volunteer block (one Parent per family) each week regardless of the number of classes taken. Each family’s weekly responsibility/volunteer hour will be pre-assigned each week by the Administrator.
Required Volunteer responsibilities may include but are not limited to: - Cleaning, which may include but not limited to: trash, bathrooms, vacuuming, wiping down tables, doors, etc. - Hall Monitor - Study Hall Monitor - Teacher’s aid/assistant: Each room will have at least 1 volunteer/helper. This will most likely be assigned to a parent whose child is scheduled in that classroom. Helper duties may include but are not limited to: (1) take initiative in assisting teachers and students as needed according to the teacher’s specific guidelines, (2) distribute materials, (3) help maintain order in the classroom and remove any students exhibiting any disrespectful or disruptive behavior and escort him/her their parent if not in class, (4) ensure classroom is clean and tidy at the end of the class period, (5) accompany any student to use the restroom, (6) act as a substitute for that class block in the rare occasion the teacher is absent, and (7) perform any other duty applicable to their assistant position. |
Q: |
Is there a nursery available for children that are to young to attend classes? |
A: |
While our host church has graciously allowed us to use their Nursery room, ASH Co-op does not provide Nursery care. Parents are welcome to use the Nursery room but must stay in the room with their child/children at all times. We ask any that use this room to please be sure everything is picked up and put back in its proper place before leaving. |
