Visitor Guide

Read the entire Handbook. 

If you agree with the Handbook, fill out a form to be added to our Waiting List for the next interest meeting. Please look ahead at your calendar and move any Tuesday appointments or conflicts so you are free to attend a visit. Attending both the meeting and scheduled visit are required to join our group. 

Attend the next interest meeting. Interest Meetings are only held twice a year near the start of the fall and spring terms. At the meeting, we will go over the handbook and address any individual concerns, then moms will chat. Nursing babies are welcome, but no other children. You should plan to arrive on time and stay the entire time (about 1 1/2 hours). At the end of the meeting, we will have you complete an application and submit a $10 cash registration fee. A leader will then schedule you for a park visit. 

The park visit is so you can see what our group feels like and if it will be a good fit for your family. It is also a chance for us to see if your family is a good fit for our group. Plan to arrive within 15 minutes of the start time and stay the entire 3 hours. If you are unable to stay the entire 3 hours, talk to a leader so we can reschedule your visit. 

After your visit, group leaders will consider if families have met the group standards as outlined in the handbook, then call to talk with you about joining our group. Then you will join our website by creating an account which will give you access to the group calendar and allow you to sign up for events, as well as to the forum, directory, and more. 

When you first join our group, you will be considered a trial member for the first four times you attend. During that time, you may attend all main Tuesday events, but not extra activities or special events. We want you focused on getting involved in the group and making friends, and not distracted or overwhelmed with optional activities. (In addition, most such activities are organized at registration before each term.)

After your fourth event, group leaders will carefully consider if you have met the 50% attendance requirement and followed the handbook.

• If you have, your status will be changed to group member and you will be able to participate in all open events and activities. At this time, the remaining $15 of the term fee is due, please bring cash to your next event.
• If you have not followed the handbook, you will be dropped immediately and barred from rejoining. 
• If you have not met the 50% attendance requirement, you will be dropped from the group, and will not be eligible to visit again unless we do not have a waiting list. 

On rescheduling visits: We will try to work with your schedule, but it is not always possible to reschedule visits, particularly last minute. If we are not able to reschedule your visit, you may reapply next term.
