NOTE: FDS’s membership year expires on July 31, 2025. Applications for new memberships will be processed in JUNE, JULY, & AUGUST 2024 and DECEMBER & JANUARY 2025. If you have questions before then, contact Membership at membership@floridadriftwoodschoolers.org

With the increase in the number of families entering homeschooling, you must understand the role of FDS before applying for membership. In general terms, we are not a school. We do not dictate to parents what or how they should teach their children. Our mission is to support and encourage our member families as they live this homeschooling lifestyle!

If you have a Yahoo.com email address, please add “lifeline@homeschool-life.com” to your approved contacts list. Yahoo is problematic about filtering and losing essential emails you need going forward. Regardless of your email provider, this is a good step for anyone to ensure you receive all emails from FDS.

Process to Join FDS

Request Membership Online ~ Please complete the online application below (the option to pay with PayPal is at the end of the online application). Dues are for the 2024-2025 year only. Full-year membership dues are $250 per family. The family is the parents or legal guardians and their homeschooling children. If you join between February 1 and May 31 for the remainder of the current school year, dues are reduced to $175. All memberships expire at the end of July. Paying via PayPal is strongly encouraged because it considerably shortens your approval time.

After the application is completed, you will receive an email letting you know when your application is approved, at which time you will be given member access to the FDS website. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, we ask that you allow up to 3 weeks for delivery and processing.

FDS’s Waiver of Liability: I understand that I must be present and responsible for supervising my children at all FDS recreational and educational activities that my children participate in unless I have authorized in writing an alternative FDS member parent to act on my behalf and to be responsible for supervising my children. FDS is not responsible for supervising my children. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the group, FDS, and all parents that are members of FDS from any liability for any acts done by FDS or its members that are reasonably related to the particular recreational or educational activity while participating in the FDS support group. I hereby consent to my children’s participation in FDS activities and agree to assume all risks involved. I understand that I am responsible for my children’s health/medical care in the event of an injury or accident during any FDS activity.

I understand that typing my name below is signing the Waiver of Liability, which is necessary for participation in Florida Driftwood Schoolers, Inc (FDS). All adults 18+ must be background checked to participate with FDS. You can provide your background screening within 72 hours of registration. If you need a background check, we can perform one for you for $30. Please note that you are responsible for any additional charges if the initial screening finds anything that needs further investigation.
