How to Join

If you are interested in joining the St. Anthony Mary Claret (SAMC) Homeschool Ministry (HSM), please submit an Interest Form so that we can contact you to discuss the organization and answer your questions.  Should you decide to join, we will guide you through membership registration.  If you would like to join Laude Homeschool Co-op (Laude) and space is available, we will guide you through that process as well.  The steps of membership registration include:

1. HSM Membership Registration Request - Submit membership request and wait for approval.

2. Laude Pre-Registration Form - If applicable, submit pre-registration form and wait for approval.

3. Membership Fees Payment - Pay $25 HSM Membership Fee and $25 Laude Membership Fee.  Note that Laude membership requires HSM membership.

4. Primary Parent/Guardian Safe Environment Requirements Completion - The primary parent will serve as the primary contact for the HSM, will escort children to HSM events, volunteer for HSM events, volunteer or serve duty hours for Laude, or teach/assist for Laude.  The Primary Parent/Guardian must:

• Complete the following items at www.virtusonline.org:
  • authorization of criminal background check
  • acknowledgement of the Code of Conduct
  • Harassment training module
  • Protecting God's Children training module
  • Vulnerable Adults training module
• Submit all three training certificates to the Membership section of the HSM/Laude website.  Each training certificate is valid for three years.  Members must submit valid training certificates again when any of any of the training certificates expire.  Valid training certificates are required in order to be cleared for HSM participation and/or to be cleared for Laude class registration.
• Read the Policy for Ministering to Minors of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
• Print, complete, and submit the Policy for Ministering to Minors Acknowledgement Receipt.  Document submission is required in order to be cleared for HSM participation and/or to be cleared for Laude class registration.
• Remain up to date on the safe environment requirements for the entire academic year.  Submitting documentation to HSM is the responsibility of the member.  

5. Secondary Parent/Guardian Safe Environment Requirements Completion - If the secondary parent will escort children to HSM events without the primary parent, volunteer for HSM events, volunteer or serve duty hours for Laude, or teach/assist for Laude, then he or she must complete the safe environment requirements as outlined in the primary parent/guardian section above.

6. Registration Forms Submission - Complete and submit all of the required registration forms, which include but are not limited to the adult participant form, student registration forms, and student health information forms.

7. Duty Hours Sign Up - Sign up to serve duty hours if enrolling in Laude.  Completion is required in order to be cleared to register for classes.

8. Class Registration - Register for classes if enrolling in Laude.
