Adverse Weather Policy
Q: |
What is the Extreme Weather Policy for Rise Up? |
A: |
The safety of all Rise Up families is the first priority when determining if Class Days should be held during Extreme Weather Events. The decision to close on Class Days is a serious one, and it affects all of our families in many different ways. We do not want to cancel our classes if necessary, however, it is more important for our families to remain safe and off the roads when driving conditions become dangerous. In the case of Extreme Weather conditions, Rise Up will follow the same CLOSURE status as the Forest Lake School District. In the event that Forest Lake DELAYS the start of classes, Rise Up will open and operate as normal at 8:30 A.M. One Monday and/or one Tuesday closure will be considered a Snow Day and will not be made up. If it is necessary to cancel more than one Monday or Tuesday Class Day in a year, the decision to make up a canceled Class Day will be made by the Board with the best interests of the entire organization in mind. No refunds will be given for weather-related class day cancellations.

Q: |
What if I am concerned about the weather and the Rise Up Class Day is still in session? |
A: |
Families can make their own decisions regarding attending classes based on existing or impending weather conditions. No refunds will be made for any decision to miss a class day if Rise Up classes are in session. |
