The goal of the PCHS group is to be an encouragement to traditional homeschool families and to offer opportunities and activities to enrich their homeschool experience. 

In an effort to make our group as successful and fair to our members as possible, we are asking each member to volunteer their time and/or talent in at least one event or activity during the year.

We do understand that everyone's situation is different and not everyone will not be able to contribute the same, but hope that each member will desire to contribute in some way for the benefit of all.

To get the most out of your membership with our group, we encourage members to actively participate in activities and meetings as well as the various field trips, classes and other offerings.

We want to welcome you to be a part of our group, not just take part in individual activities our group offers its members.

By requesting membership with, communicating with, seeking information from, or participating in any activities offered by PCHS, You agree to the following: 
 
You acknowledge that participation in the activities of PCHS involves risk to the Participant (and to Participant’s parent or guardian, if Participant is a minor), and may result in various types of injury including, but not limited to, the following: sickness, bodily injury, death, emotional injury, personal injury, property damage, and financial damage. 
 
In consideration for the opportunity to participate in any or all PCHS activities, the Participant (or parent/guardian) acknowledges and accepts the risks of injury associated with participation in and transportation to and from the Activity. The Participant (or parent/guardian) accepts personal financial responsibility for any injury or other loss sustained during activities or during transportation to and from the activities, as well as for any medical treatment rendered to the Participant. 
 
Further, the Participant (or parent/guardian) releases and promises to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PCHS (including, but not limited to its officers, agents, board of directors, volunteers, instructors, helpers, other members/participants, affiliated clubs, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, and if applicable owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event – including, but not limited to their boards of directors, elders, employees, paid staff and any other representatives) for any injury or loss arising directly or indirectly from the above-mentioned membership/communication/information/participation in activities or transportation to and from the activities, whether such injury arises out of the negligence of the Activity Sponsor, the Participant, or otherwise. Yes 3. Do you agree to the PCHS Event Attendance Policy?

• When events are planned and posted to the calendar, if you sign up to attend, it is assumed you will do so (barring any illnesses/emergencies, of course).
• If your name is on a signup list, especially for an event that has a limited number of attendants, that spot is reserved for you. Other families in the group are therefore unable to sign up once all spots are filled. Even for events that do not have a limited attendance, when you signup, things are prepared for your attendance, resources gathered, and time and effort invested.
• If you find that you are not able to attend, it is your responsiblity to have the courtesy to notify the event coordinator 48 hours or more in advance. That way we can try to find another family to fill your void, or save the trouble of gathering resources for you and your family. Again, we understand that unforseen circumstances can occur that may prevent your attendance, but otherwise please hold to your commitment of participating once you or a friend has signed up for something. If payment is due by a certain date and you do not contact the event coordinator to pay or arrange payment, your reservation will be removed.

Due to the recent string of cancellations (especially for those that were last minute or with no contact) the board has decided to enforce a new group policy:

• If you signup for and skip out on 3 events with no contact within 48 hours prior to the event, your family will be barred from signups for a probationary period of 3 months. I reiterate that contacting someone the morning of an event because your family is sick, has a cold, stomach bug, family emergency, etc. does NOT apply to this policy.

Yes 4. Would your family like to receive a Community Aid care card when they become available?

As a Community Aid partner, our group has the benefit of receiving care cards to distribute to the families we serve. Care cards are similar to a gift card, valued at $25, and can be used at any Community Aid store.

  

This can be such a blessing to many families in our group. The distribution of these care cards will run concurrently with our quarterly Community Aid clothing drives (the first Friday of September, December, March, and June). I realize that some families in the group may not have use for a card or choose not to shop at Community Aid.

Twelve participating families will be drawn at random each quarter, starting on the first Friday of September. When your family is selected, you will be contacted. You card will be either delivered to you at the clothing drive, an event in the near future, or mailed to you (not recommended, but only if it’s your choice). The twelve families selected in the first quarter will then be withheld from all further drawings the remainder of our PCHS school year (September 1- August 31). Based on the current size of our group, each family interested should have an opportunity to receive a card at sometime during our school year.

In the event of a PCHS family experiencing dire need or an unfortunate circumstance, the cards will be distributed FIRST based on said dire need and unfortunate circumstance at the discretion of the PCHS board members. Examples of need would include, but are not limited to, recent new addition to the family, loss of job, natural disaster, financial strain resulting from medical circumstances, etc.

When a new PCHS school year starts on September 1 of the next year, all current member families who are interested will again be eligible to receive a card.

Please be sure to read all the following rules regarding the Care Card program

• Care cards are not to be used as incentives or prizes. They are to be distributed to anyone who can use them.
• Care cards may be used to purchase anything in the store (clothing, shoes, household items, etc.)
• When you go to check out, tell the cashier that you are paying using a care card
• Care cards are valid on full ticket price purchase ONLY. No discounts or promotional offers will apply, even on promotional days. If you were to go to check out on a promotional half-off day with, just for example, $40 of merchandise, it would benefit you to divide your order into two separate orders. Use the card card to purchase $25 of merchandise at full value, and get any promotional offers on the remaining $15 of your selected merchandise
• Care cards are valid for one time use. Any remaining balance is forfeited, and no change will be given (i.e., if your order total was $19.95, you forfeit the remaining $5.05 on the card)
• Care cards should only be given to families, and no one family should receive more than $100 of care cards at one time
• Care cards should be used within 30 days of receipt. Even though there is no expiration day on them, they do get new card designs on occasion, making old cards obsolete
• Do not write on the cards, as they may be reused for future partners
• Cards may not be transferred or sold
