About Us
Mission Statement
We are a Christ-centered, non-denominational organization whose mission is to encourage and support families who step out in faith to homeschool their children. SOAR provides supplemental educational classes and opportunities for friendships with other homeschool families.
Statement of Faith
Our core values concern the Person and Work of Jesus Christ (the Gospel) revealed in Scripture. There are many precious truths taught in the Bible over which godly men have differed in understanding. Therefore, it is not a comprehensive list of all that is important to believe but what Solid Oaks Academic Resource values and holds deeply to for our Christian fellowship and unity at our homeschool resource organization. (Romans 15:5-6)
· The Bible is the inerrant Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and final authority for Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21, John 1:1-5)
· There is one God, the creator of all things, who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 4:4-6, Matthew 3, Matthew 28:18-20)
· Salvation comes through the free gift of God, made evident in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Eph. 2:8-10, Romans 6:23, John 3:16)
· God created the earth in six literal days, and the earth is about 6000 years old. (Gen. 1 & 2)
· The role of a Christian is to glorify God and to be Christ’s example on earth. (Eph. 2:10, 1 Corinthians 10:31)
· We believe mankind was created by God and in the image of God. He established our identity before we were born to be male or female and we hold on to that identity our whole life. We also believe in the sanctity of life, born or unborn. (Gen. 1:27, Gen. 5:2, Psalm 139:13)
· God has established the Sanctity of marriage, clearly providing us with specific roles in both areas of relationships and marriages between one man and one woman, parenting, and as members of the body of Christ. He has blessed our SOAR community, our individual families, and the larger body of Christ of which we belong, with His goodness and grace. God gives mothers and fathers the responsibility to train up children in the ways of the Christian faith as proclaimed in the Scriptures. (Eph. 5:22-6:4, Gen. 2:23-24, Prov. 22:6, Joshua 21:15, Prov. 6:20, Deut. 6:7-9)
