TidBits about our co-op
* BRIGHT Co-op has been meeting for approximately 20 years now. We have grown from a group of families who simply met for gym to a full academic co-op spanning K - 12th grades.
* Over the years, we have gone up and down in enrollment based on the economy, area demographics, and age of students -- many families choose to put their children in school for high school. Right now we have @25 families and close to 100 students. Because we value small class sizes, we are only accepting a handful of families in select grades for the 2024/25 school year.
* Our students are grouped by skill level, as well as teacher availability, meaning we often have 2 or more grades in all the same classes.
* We offer academic courses across the board including science and writing or literature for upper elementary through high school. Electives for older grades depending on the available teachers include phys ed., 21st century living, government/ economics/ personal finance or Christian living. Electives for younger grades, depending on the year, might include gym, spanish, geography, book club, STEM , music/art or history.
* Our co-op is looking for students who are respectful to teachers, kind to fellow students, obedient to our handbook guidelines, and eager to learn! We also look for parents who love God and are willing to serve Him and our co-op wholeheartedly. We strive to shoulder one another’s burdens, but we also aim to share the workload equally. We have rules and order, but we serve in a joyful and relaxed atmosphere.
As much as we would like to, we cannot accommodate students with learning disabilities, attention difficulties or behavior problems. These precious children have special needs, and we don’t have the staff to care for them properly.
