Hello! My name is Alissa Young. I am a wife and a mom to 2 wonderful kids. We live in Andover, MN. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, reading, fishing, and watching my kids play sports.

I am one of the Barton Reading and Spelling tutors here at Rise Up. This is my third year tutoring with the Barton program. I love building a relationship with and earning the trust of each student I work with. I have a passion for helping students rise to their full potential with reading and spelling. Each child learns at a different pace and some children need a deeper dive into language material to truly master it. The one-on-one class format allows us to customize the speed and individualize the instruction with each student. We move through the material as quickly as we can but as slowly as we need to.

While my tutoring schedule is full for this school year, I am available to discuss the specific needs of your child and give some ideas of things that may help them with their reading and spelling journey.  Feel free to reach out to me with questions you may have.
