Our Community Program
At CHC, we meet on Tuesdays for 28 weeks, offering three different programs based on children’s age and ability. Parents are required to attend classes with their children through the Upper Grammar Programs. Our tutors are lead learners who work together with parents in a unique partnership.
Our classes utilize a blended method for placement. Instead of adhering to strict age or grade divisions, we work with the homeschooling parents to determine the appropriate placement based on age and ability. Our Program includes:
Pre-Grammar (Age 3-5)
Lower Grammar (Grades K-4)
Upper Grammar (Grades 5-6)
Dialectic/Middle School (Grades 7-8)
We begin our day together in Morning Gathering, a time designed to set the atmosphere of delight and wonder. See our class schedule.
Our history and science curriculum are based on a four-year cycle. This model will be useful in allowing parents to teach the same material/concepts to children of multiple ages. Please see our Scope and Sequence for a general overview.
