General Information:

To be considered for admission to Alabama STEAM Academy:

Complete the online application.
Once the application has been reviewed you will be contacted (usually by email) for a phone interview with an enrollment coordinator or the administrator.
Once approved for acceptance, you will be emailed the applicable paperwork. All paperwork and the registration fee ($75 per semester) must be submitted within 10 days.

We are a parent led co-op and parents must agree to volunteer time for the success of the co-op. We require 20 service hours per semester (See Service Hours section in the Alabama STEAM Acadcemy handbok for a full description of opportunities and guidelines). Service hours can be fulfilled through cleanup, teaching, subbing, planning a social function, coordinating lunch, and a variety of other opportunities. If a parent does not wish to volunteer he may pay $200 per semester in lieu of service.

Fees:

All families will be asked to pay a semester fee of $75 twice a year to Cullman Homeschool Coop – Fall and Spring. This fee is non-refundable. Fees are used to cover expenses for but are not limited to: paper products, printing, special events (Field Trips, Parties, Fairs, etc.), etc.

Classes are an additional cost.
Once a parent has paid for a class, no refunds will be given.
Other possible fees (optional): yearbooks and field trips
If fees are not paid on time, the we reserve the right to drop the family from the roster. We will contact the parent to let him/her know about the payment and the date payment is due. Failure to pay could result in removal from class.

1. Alabama STEAM Academy is a cooperative school (Homeschool Co-op) and relies on parents to volunteer and contribute their time, energy, creativity, ideas, and skills. As such, all families are expected to perform service hours. At a minimum, parents are required to volunteer during lunch on a rotating basis and serve in a minimum of one other area (ex. Monitor, Clean Up Crew, etc.).

We make this information availble so that other parents are consious of parents who do not wish their children to be on social media.

I am aware that Alabama STEAM Academy and it's teachers may photograph or takes videos during a STEAM Academy class, activity, or event and may publish them on Social Media pages (ex. Facebook, Instagram, etc.). I am aware that other parents may publish photos on their personal social media and the STEAM Academy has not control over the actions of third parties.

6. By completing the registration process and enrolling my child/ren at Alabama STEAM Academy, I the parent/guardian agree to the following:

I have read, understand, and agree to fullIy support the mission and vision, policies, procedures, and rules as outlined in the Alabama STEAM Academy Handbook.

I will instruct my child/ren in the conduct required of students in the Student Code of Conduct and am responsible for their conduct while attending STEAM Academy classes and activities.

I understand that attending the Orientation Parent Meeting is mandatory and I will attend.

7. I release and hold harmless Alabama STEAM Academy and its affiliates from any claims, demands, actions, liabilities, or damages arising from or connected with transportation to and from and attendance at STEAM Academy functions in perpetuity
